There would be alot less injured veterans to begin with if Bush didn't send them to a stupid war that makes no sense.

There are more terrorist because of the war.

But back on point...if you want to count Obama's broken promises how about the fact that he said he would put non emergency bills on the white house website for the American people to see and he has done that with a total of.....one bill.

    http://www.cato.org/tech/tk/090413-tk.html

"President Obama promised on the campaign trail that he would have the most transparent administration in history. As part of this commitment, he said that the public would have five days to look online and find out what was in the bills that came to his desk before he signed them. It was his first broken promise, and it's the promise that keeps on breaking. He has now signed 11 bills into law and gone, at best, 1 for 11 on his five-day posting promise. The Obama administration should deliver on the Web-enabled transparency he promised and post bills for five days before signing."

    Stupid?

Maybe stupidly executed for a few years.

    No sense?

You mean, toppling a dangerous Stalinist dictator with large political ambitions and love of WMD to free 25 million Iraqis from oppression and creating a quasi democratic state -- the only one, by the way -- in the heart of Middle East makes no sense?

    Is that what you mean?

I guess for you, sensible has a REALLY high, if not unrealistic, bar.

I won't speak for Ted, but to me, spending $200 billion a year in a futile attempt to create democracy in a basket-case middle east country with a pre-war GDP of $60 billion a year is pretty stupid.

Bombing the hell out of them - OK

Nation-building - stupid and an unforgiveable reversal of a clear campaign promise not to.

$200 billion is pocket change compared to what we are going to pay for Obama's programs. And it was over 4 years.

Meanwhile, that we spent $200 billion was a result of poor execution on the part of the Bush administration, not a verdict on the idea itself. Better execution of the post war effort would have saved half that.

If Iraq remains a stable democracy -- now more likely than ever -- watch its GDP soar.
