Sorry for not posting sooner, but just wanted to say I had a great time meeting everyone. Charleston is class all the way, although I kept running into Buckeyes from time to time but even they couldn't damped my spirits. Hope to come back next year and if not I will make it a point to come down to see more of the sites.
    Great tournament!

Thank you Charleston for showing us a great time! I had so much fun hanging with everyone during the pub crawl and the festivities on Saturday!
Mikey and crew, don't be strangers next time we meet, wherever we may be! I'll be looking forward to the next opportunity to defend the Coffee Pot Cup!
Can't wait to visit Charleston again!

sorry I didnt get a chance to speak to you more but glad you had a good time. Charleston seems to have a high amount of people from ohio here in fact check out this website http://gobacktoohio.com/ all tounge and cheek but you can walk into just about any bar around here and yell "O-H" and get the obligatory return call of "I-O"
hope you make it down again!

Thanks Mikey for arranging so much and welcoming us from Toronto so openly. You and your whole crew are a fantastic bunch of people. I had tons of fun standing with your fans, making noise and waving your flags (even that sprint around the pitch!)

Here is my album from our match: http://www.flickr.com/photos/krazyfoto/sets/72157614896989291/

It is with sadness that we close the book on yet another unbelievable week of soccer....preseason, no less. Toronto and DCU have been our favorite clubs to host with all the fans you usually bring to town & this week did nothing to change that. Fun times all around. Hope your regular seasons go well and maybe we'll get to at least see DCU in the USOC again. Keep our fingers crossed so maybe we'll see everyone next year!!

The large Toronto FC banner hanging at the top of the stadium looked sweet... it would be cool seeing something like that in E10! VIVA LA BATTERIA!!!

    That would be really cool.

I had a great time Saturday meeting you Battery and some Toronto people (got very intimate with a lot of bugs too!). I'm looking to make at least one game a month once the season starts, and am pretty sure I'll be there for the home opener.

Just wanted to pop in to say Thank You once again to all you Charleston supporters - and to the nice gentleman in the bar who filled the Coffee Pot with the sweet nectar of the gods.

I would love to find the nice gentlemen who drives a red pickup truck and works at the stadium and apologize for being rude to him and leaving a small pile of beer cans in the grass, I had a rough moment when leaving that he had the misfortune to be a part of.

But other than that, I think everyone had a great time with us, and we had a great time with everyone else :)

The Coffee Pot is sitting nicely on my mantle awaiting another scoreline to be attached to it. I have faith for you guys that I'll be leaving it with you once to enjoy. Some day.

Lisa is still scratching her gnat bites :)

And what a joyous day that will be! We'll also be sure to add the plate that's conspicuously absent....the one from a night in 1999.......:D

HA - Yeah, I almost want to have that engraved up on the top with the "Coffee Pot Cup" placard - or maybe on the back by itself.
It's not actually a game that was played with the cup in play - but without it, the cup would not exist, so it is definitely worth noting on the Pot somewhere prominent.

This is why I could never move to Charleston. Too many Buckeyes in a place that should never have Buckeyes. They just ruin everything they touch.
If you could just get rid of the Buckeyes then Charleston would be a very decent place to live. LOTS of history! I do want to come back and explore the city and it's history more.
Hopefully next year we get to come back and I will make it my mission to spend a full week there. So much to see and do.:)
Again, thanks for being such great hosts.

Don't move to Myrtle Beach, then, either. Ohio loves Myrtle Beach.

I talked to a few of the supporters of Charleston and they pretty muched agreed with me that Southern people aren't the problem in the South. It's the Northerners who move there that create all the problems.:D

they're called Johnny Come Latelys...or for more of a Gullah approach, Bin Yahs and Come Yahs.

Bin Yah: [Gullah] n. sing. 1. “been here”: natives, long-time residents
Come Yah: [Gullah] n. sing. 1: “come here”: newcomers

I guess that explains why I didn't hear much of the true Charleston accents. Too many yankees running around.
