Liam Rosenior should get a mention. Behind Doyle I would say him and Hunt have been our best players this season. I am baffled at the mention for James Harper earlier in this thread, the bloke is almost non existant for us, not a fans favourite this season at all!
Agreed. Tommy Smith has been one of the most productive attackers in the Championship this season. I'd certainly place him among the top-10 players in the entire division this season. Fair enough, but that was one game.
Pretty good list I think - although I've never seen what all the fuss about Seb Larsson is. Also, Ledley ahead of Bodde?
he was good last season! that's my basis! is he starting these days? admittedly i've only seen him on telly.
Chris Cohen is a possible shout for a top 10 player. He has been superb, great passer, boundless energy, very good positionally, can play midfield or full back. simply because we are near the bottom of the table it would be hard to say 'top ten player' but if we carry on the way we are then we might have a couple of contenders by the end of the season. Nathan Tyson. Injured too often but with a run of games he is one of the most effective attackers in the division.
Here's the Independent's take on the top 20 players in England outside the Premier League: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...remier-league-1234196.html?action=Popup&ino=1
They rate Lewis Mcgugan as Forest's best player (no.16), but he has been too inconsistent, and too injured to merit inclusion in the list. he has bags of potential though, and is a real creative driving force in our midfield. On talent alone he is definitely one of the best outside the prem, but he hasn't yet got the consistency. A better choice for inclusion in the top 20 would be Nathan Tyson, who has been outstanding up front for us, and causes huge problems for any defence at this level. Few more effective attackers, none with more pace. I would also suggest Chris Cohen or Wes Morgan as being possible top 20 players, but fewer people have heard of them than Matt Jarvis and James Mcfadden (who hasn't done much this season). The inclusion of Miles Addison is a tad baffling.........
Agree with you on Westwood though - he was always immense against us when he played for Carlisle, and I don't think I've seen anyone better at this level.
I know he's not played much but does anyone rate James McFadden? I think he's really talented and always does the business in a Scotland jersey, but never quite manages to recreate that magic for his clubs. Anyone seen much of him for City?
I saw quite a bit of him when he was at Everton. I was always a bit surprised he was on the Everton roster. He always struck me as a good, solid Championship striker who somehow found himself on a solid Premiership team. I don't think McFadden is near as good as, say James Beattie (ex club teammate at Everton).
