If U r asking abt the incentives for winnng Suzuki Cup, less than 1/2 wht Vitenam players r getting w/ the previous ASEAN crowns sawing the regulars get S$20000 (Nt US$:p) per players while those considered reserves getting a fraction of that based on appearences

Just a typical gloryhunter as she is unlikely to stick w/ Man U in tough time & will change clubs so that why she claimed she is always supporting the best :D

They will nt be following EPL if they hve to fork up wht the UK fans r forking out as the attendences r dropping there in UK.

Ever wonder what's been going on with former Home United and national striker Egmar Goncalves, after he left Singapore in January 2007?

With the help of Mr Renato Andreão, a journalist with "trivela.com" - a Brazilian soccer news portal, I managed to track down the former ace striker of the Protectors.

Below is a list of Q & A, which with the help of Renato, here's what Egmar has to share with us how is he doing now since he left Singapore.

read it in the wiki. OFK Beograd have youth development team from '96.
so there should be some mistakens in Marijan Dong's wiki.

perhaps it will be updated when he gets famous in Seoul.. and maybe
eventually in Singapore..

a good article...

Lions need change
http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/sports/story/0,4136,190466,00.html

FATIGUE is the reason for the Lions' decline. I expected them to lose in Iran but not by that margin.
[IMG] SPH FILE PICTURE The Football Association of Singapore should take the blame because they have not planned the league fixtures well enough.
The players do not seem to have the time to rest before joining national training - unlike Vietnam whose local league was long over.
This way they could have prevented injuries. Yes, the Lions have not been performing well, and the coach should not look at players playing in the S-League alone.
There are many leagues here like the National Football League to choose from. Look at the team in the 1980s and 1990s - some of them had players from the business and school leagues.
Like Lee Man Hon, who played for the Institute of Technical Education (Bishan) and was selected for the national team that won us the Malaysia Cup. The Lions need new faces.
Give them another chance to prove their worth. If they do get hammered when they play the Thais then it's time to re-haul the team.
We want to see the Lions play attacking football like what we used to and being feared by our neighbouring countries when we did play that brand of football.

TD Slobodan Pavkovic has introduced the 24Basic move to imprve S'pore technical skills

it will be introduced to all youth grps under FAS but it seem the TD is concerned abt the schools as they fall outside FAS

He believed schools r too concern abt results (likely also too influenced by English football) thus r playing the ball too often

So he is instructing all schools coaches accredited by FAS must follow

It is a great start as it show that if TD just do a TD job & nothing else & nt like previous TD (No fault of their) who had other duties, changes will come.

Unfortunately it is nt as simple as planning

S-league also hve to take into account the sponsors wishes for a league season that last no less than 9 mths

$ talk as unlike other ASEAN leagues in the region, S-league do nt recieved $ directly from the gov

Also it is nice to think we shld looked outside S-league but w/ the low standard of NFL (they cnnt even match Prime League teams) now it is difficult to find players that can make the jump to international immediately as even S-league players do nt make that jump like Ismail Yunus (the player that was the fans 'villian' for SC Vietnam & ACQ Iran), it take 1-2 years

Unless NFL is willing to reform, which may then kill off a nos of teams & NFL clubs will resist that.

interesting facts..

apparently this Marijan Dong's ex-club OFK Beograd is also Raddy's (current Singapore's coach) last club he played for in his final career...
