Sorry about the game, not over by any means though, if I didnt hate Manny so much Id be pulling for your blue, never liked Philly teams(except Iverson versus the Lakers in the Finals, and Lindros versus the Devils).
I was of that mindset too but really you're a lot better off with an acoustic. I can play a Soundgarden song on acoustic and it doesn't sound bad at all. That, and you can take it with you if you want. And just of nowhere, I've decided to listen to some Neil Young.
If you like Rock, and you like Neil Young, check out Lucero. Kind of Southern rockish meets punk/country. Tennessee is a good place to start. I was just told once if I liked rock and Neil Young or the Boss to checkout Lucero. I dont like Neil Young so much but I love Lucero. Side story: good friend of mine who was in a punk rock band, ended up taking up classical guitar and became quite good. Moved to NY and last I heard was paying his way through school teaching rich kids how to play.
Nice. Will check Lucero out though. Yeah, the guitar thing is just a hobby. A friend of mine got sick of me complaining about music that his exact words were "If you don't like the state of music, go and pick up a guitar yourself and see if you can do better!" Next thing I know I'm at the local store paying for a cheap acoustic Fender.
It isn't amazing musicianship or anything, just enjoyable song writing, for me anyways, about girls and booze and lonely nights, and you cant go wrong there.
Well, I kind of grew up around music nuts and a family friend was a music teacher so I kind of have that standard drilled into me. But mostly just give me something that has weird noise in the background and I'm set.
Seriously anyone enjoy good old Irish tunes? If you can't have fun listening to Flogging Molly, you are taking life too seriously
Heh, me and friend walked around a 24 hour grocery store once singing "******** You I'm Drunk!" in the booze section.
For me it varies. Recently it's been Primal Scream's Sonic Flower Groove album. But most of the time I'll listen to Beck or the Chili Peppers. Although Saint Etienne is incredibly upbeat.
LOL...I saw them live at the Roskilde Music Festival in Denmark in 1990...damn I'm old!!! Great band!
Forgot how amusing the Dead Milkmen were. "You're kidding." "I must be the Bahamas are islands." And the Jam of course.
i like the convo between kazuma....damn, i forget who. i too am a musician, and am not surprised in the least, that nirvana may have stolen that riff from killing joke. it's not the first time a punk band has stolen a riff from another punk band. lots of them do it, as an homage to their roots; their major influences. the label may have had a problem with it, but only because they would have to pay money to the band, if the band were dicks about nirvana using a riff for just 4-5 seconds. political asylum, an old uk alt-punk-metal band from the late 80's used a slayer riff, i believe, to start a song, but never had to pay royalties. mainly because they were just a small time punk band that never really got big time. either way, great song by nirvana. i'll have to find the killing joke song, to see if it really matters.
Cant wait for this weekend parked right in front of this: Favorite band in the universe, Minus the bEar

You know what's awesome right now? The new Girls Aloud single, The Promise. Classic, infallible, genius pop music. You're gonna make me, make me love you!
I can't stand the new Killers album. Just went to a Dwarves show the other night though. Always awesome.
Oasis Saw Oasis last night with my wife...AWESOME SHOW!!!!!!!!!! Surprised me with a few oldies that they haven't played in a while like Slide Away, Morning Glory, Masterplan and Noel played an awesome acoustic version of Don't Look Back in Anger... Opened with Rock n Roll Star and finished it of with Champaign Supernova and a sweet rendition of I am the Walrus!!! I had my black Chelsea jersey on and this guy behind me said, "Vhy did you choose to vear this shit for this...?" He was smiling so I knew he meant nothing of it. I replied, "Don't worry, as long as it's not Manu, I'm sure they wouldn't care!" The dude was from Autria and he then proceeded to inform me that they co-hosted the Euro Cup - yeah, I know! I said "prost" raised my glass and turned back to the show. We were in the 6th row and my wife swore Liam was staring right at me at one time. I assured her that he does that during Noel's guitar solos - just stares into space!!!
Went to a concert the other week - Less Than Jake, Guttermouth, and Cashless in Stuttgart. I was very excited about seeing LTJ - it was my first time. LTJ hit the stage at about 9:55. We were in the car driving home by 11:00 (and it was a 10 minute walk to the car). They played for less than an hour. About 10 songs (including the encore), and they were off. It wasn't because of illness, or getting angry with the crowd. They just played for 50 minutes or so, and that's it. Needless to say, I was upset. I mean, the bloody Sex Pistols played for 55 minutes, and they only stopped then because they had played every song they ever recorded. My wife told me that this was more common now, with sets being around an hour long. I'm definitely not used to this (last concert I went to before this one was a Carbon Leaf show that lasted nearly 2 hours), and if that's the case, I'm done on live music...
