There are several place that are cheap off the I26 at Ashley phosphate road, Montague and (last choice) Dorchester road. they are within about 15 minutes of the stadium there is also a hostel closer to downtown http://www.notsohostel.com/ I heard good things about them so it might be worth a look.
We're staying at cottages at James Island Park for the Easter weekend matches. We stayed there last year. They sleep 8, so the price is pretty decent ($138/night). Info at http://www.ccprc.com/index.asp?NID=276
You really should have a Pre-Match thread by now, so feel free to move this post there when you do Go Battery, Kick some Metro ass!!!
pleanty, they guys usually will sign them after games. they will usually do them before entering the locker room but Ive seen them doing it along the pitch as well. mikey
Mikey and Bribe Taker-- please accept my sincerest best wishes for this year's Cup, wish I could have made it. Please send my best to Mrs Buytas, Mrs, Bribe Taker, Jeff, and Yogi! Wear the banana hat with Pride, Jim! And the autographed match Puma ball is still displayed on the mantel! CMON THE CREW! Invite us back you bastards!
To The Regiment and all Battery fans: Thank you for all of the hospitality. Charleston is a beautiful, classy city, as is Blackbaud. The Battery seem to be a pretty strong side and it is good to see a committed group of fans. Hopefully I will be seeing you soon. Jeff http://www.soccer-training-info.com/charleston_a_gem_for_USL.asp
glad you enjoyed your trip. let us know if you ever come back down. Nice article by the way im going to cross post it over on the Charleston board on www.usldiscussions.com

Thanks Mikey. I enjoyed the trip. I will certainly be watching some of the games online, and envying the weather for the time being (back to chilly times up here in NY).
nice job updateing the wiki page. seem like you did a lot of work not just on the table but on researching the past CCC as well Mikey
Let the record show that even though we've been in 2 more CCC's than the Red Pony's, we have a better GD. Good work Henry. And also to Cobi, very nice article. Hope you can visit again sometime in the near future.
http://blog.soccersiliconvalley.com/ Mikey Mouse and other Regiment folks: Thanks for the hospitality. Very much enjoyed your group, your stadium and your beautiful city.
Thanks, it did take me quite a while to get the match results for 2004 & 2005 in particular, by digging up the past news reports one-by-one. Fortunately the Charleston site still kept all the archive, By the way, SJE/HOU have played exceptionally well in this tournament (both won all editions contested by them & still remained unbeaten so far), it'd be great to see them play each other in future,
Side notes: "In the short history of this tournament, the champion has gone on to win one of the two year-end MLS trophies, the MLS Supporters' Shield or MLS Cup." - This streak has, however, ended in 2008 as San Jose Earthquakes failed to made the playoffs, consequently missing out on both titles.
i think now theres going to be a new streak going....the team who does the worst in the CCC will make the Finals of MLS. Red Bulls were just as bad in the CCC as they were in the regular season...lol. But none the less made it to the finals so kudos to them
G&B, you need to get on your front office stat and get DCU plugged in. We could have quite the time with DCU & Toronto's fans. The Regiment is kicking around trying to organize a fan CCC competition with games played between the supporter's groups during the week. Might be the first of its kind....a supporter's group cup competition. We played Sunderland's supporters when they visited us several years ago, it was a blast & they had a great time. Would be pretty cool if the logistics come together. But first, we need some teams with large groups of traveling fans.
that ought to be interesting...im sure if Red Bulls came back our fans could take their team on and win...lol
I asked Steven Goff about whether DC might come down on The Soccer Insider™. He said he hadn't heard anything (didn't expect him to have) but it may be a bit early yet. Hopefully it put a little something in the back of his mind and he'll ask the team sometime soon
Fornt office said they are hammering out the details (they didnt hint to any teams though) and the announcemnet should be out in the next week or so.
