    Guadeloupe 2-1 Grenada
    Martinique 1-0 Cayman Islands

    Guadeloupe qualify for finals.

Martinique need a draw against Guadeloupe in their last match to qualify. If Martinique lose to Guadeloupe, Grenada must beat Cayman Islands to have a chance of qualifying.

I don't know much about Guadeloupe or Martinique because they don't play WCQs and are not in the FIFA Rankings but considering how Guadeloupe did last time I could see them winning Group A if that was the group. Guyana was eliminated in WCQs by a Suriname team that has done horrible in the WCQ Semifinals so far, so I would expect Haiti or Cuba to finish second although neither one of them has impressed in the WCQ Semifinals. In that hypothetical Group B I would expect Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago to qualify for the Gold Cup. By the way if http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Nations_Cup_2008 is correct the final two groups will be I and J, not A and B. The group letters continue on from round to round (A through E, F through H, and finally I and J).

    Agreed.

And i expect Trinidad & Tabago to win the next CFU title. For so far i've seen, they have the most strongest team of all Caribbean CFU nations.

I think Grenada just scored and are up 2-1 at the half, I'm pretty sure even though my French is bad

EDIT: Final score of 2nd match was 3-1, pretty sure Guadeloupe won

    Cuba 7-1 Netherlands Antilles
    Barbados 3-2 Suriname

Cuba look certainties for the finals. Barbados look favourites for second place already.

Cosidering Haitis probably about as good as Cuba, I'm a bit surprised at that result for the Netherlands Antilles as they drew with Haiti during the WCQs. I'm assuming they didn't have their Dutch based players though

    Details (from CONCACAF.com)

    Barbados 3-2 Suriname, HT 0-2
    [0-1 Sandvliet 33', 0-2 Aroepa 42', 1-2 Forde 62', 2-2 Forde 65', 3-2 Forde 70']

Cuba 7-1 Netherlands Antilles, HT 4-0
    [1-0 Duartes 21', 2-0 Yanier Marques 25', 3-0, Linares 39', 4-0 Duartes 45', 4-1 Bernandus 61', 5-1 Colome 79', 6-1 Clavelo 82', 7-1 Linares 86']

Ciicintini of Netherlands Antilles sent off at 37'

Great comeback by Barbados. Suriname also went 2-0 up against Haiti in World Cup qualifying, and ended up drawing 2-2.

Cuba probably wouldn't have scored 7 if their opponents hadn't been reduced to 10 men so early.

Suriname,i hate to say it,it's my born country. But what a bunch of losers!!!I've accepted the way they've lost against Costa Rica and El Salvador. But again, making those same foolishness mistakes AGAIN??????
This is the price they pay by not allowing their Suri professionals from the Dutch!Jesus man, even Mickey Mouse could be more serious!!!!

It seems to me that Suriname didn't learned NOTHING at all in those last matches against El Salvador en Costa Rica! What a shame!

Those suckers spend more then 100.000 US Dollar to play all matches and LOOSING ALL matches for god sake!!!

    Idiots!!!

I think Cuba will win all three games, so Suriname needs to hope Netherlands Antilles beats Barbados in the final game if they want to qualify. Netherlands Antilles are pretty much out now with such a bad goal difference unless they can beat Barbados by 5 or 6 goals, which I don't think they will.

    Cuba 1-1 Barbados - Full-time

    Great result for Barbados.

Cuba will go through with a draw against Suriname, or if Netherlands Antilles beat Barbados.
Barbados will go through with a draw against Netherlands Antilles.
Suriname must beat Cuba, or draw with Cuba and hope that Netherlands Antilles beat Barbados.
    Netherlands Antilles are out.

Radio Mas 99 from the Netherlands Antilles, they only broadcast the Neth Ant matches and I think they speak Papiamento (though it sounded a hell of a lot like Spanish to me, probably because they're very similar)

    Cuba 6-0 Suriname.

Cuba and Barbados join Jamaica, Haiti, Guadeloupe and Grenada in the finals.

Last group will be played on 5th, 7th & 9th of November with hosts Trinidad & Tobago taking on Antigua & Barbuda, Guyana and St.Kitts & Nevis. Should be a tough tussle between the last 3 teams for 2nd place, but Antigua & Barbuda appear to be the form team at the moment, having beaten both Guyana and St.Kitts already this year (3-0 and 2-0), and having beaten Bermuda 4-0 in qualifying.

    05.11
    Trinidad & Tobago v Antigua & Barbuda
    Guyana v St.Kitts & Nevis

    07.11
    Trinidad & Tobago v St.Kitts & Nevis
    Antigua & Barbuda v Guyana

    09.11
    Trinidad & Tobago v Guyana
    Antigua & Barbuda v St.Kitts & Nevis

I wouldn't be surprised if Trinidad and Tobago advance to Group J and both them and Jamaica beat both Barbados and Grenada. If Trinidad and Tobago wins Group H, I would expect whoever advances out of Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, and St. Kitts and Nevis to finish last in Group I.
Do you think the final two groups will end up balanced or with one significantly harder?

I think Jamaica should be too good for Barbados and Grenada when playing at home, but it depends on what players they use. Any team that can beat both Mexico and Honduras is too good for Barbados and Grenada. So, I would say that Group J will be a bit more predictable than Group I, with Jamaica and Trinidad heavily favoured to be the top 2. Anything else would be a major shock.

Group I is interesting. Cuba, Haiti and Guadeloupe are all at a similar level (when they have their best players), so there should be a 3-way race for the 2 semi-final places. For this reason, I think Group I will be more interesting.

If we take the ELOratings (Caribbean rank) as a measuring stick, we have the following scenario:

    GROUP I
    Guadeloupe (3) (1492)
    Cuba (4) (1448)
    Haiti (5) (1405)
    Guyana (8) (1249)
    AVERAGE rank - 20
    AVERAGE rating - 1398.5

    GROUP J
    Jamaica (1) (1579)
    Trinidad & Tobago (2) (1562)
    Barbados (7) (1317)
    Grenada (10) (1230)
    AVERAGE rank - 5
    AVERAGE rating - 1422

So, as you can see, the average ranking for each group is exactly the same, but if we analyse the difference between top-ranked and bottom-ranked, the difference is 9 in Group J, but only 5 in Group I, showing a more even group for Group I. The average ELO rating for each group is also similar, but again, the range is 349 rating points in Group J, but only 243 in Group I, again showing a much more even spread of teams.

I agree with you that Jamaica may be too good for Barbados and Grenada at home but lets not forget that Grenada beat Jamaica 2-1 in St.George. If Jason Roberts is called up then i think Grenada can beat Trinidad and finish second

I highly doubt Roberts will be called up in the middle of December, but Grenada's coach said an MLS player would be so I'm guessing thats Joseph. Maybe they can get some of their lower league players like Dwane Lee and maybe even Delroy Facey
