Well it seems like the old threads got locked, so I thought I would post this here and perhaps we can keep this focused purely on the finances - since we love to discuss wages etc. - without discussing the board running off with the money.

    Arsenal to announce record profits

I'm convinced that the club at the board level loves to taunt their supporters.

people are surprised/making an issue about our wages dropping last season

Henry's salary was maybe 40K more than the next highest earner.... Ljunberg as as a high earner as well... this is not a surprise...

Plus we have a pretty young squad, and older players to to get paid more.

That said, methinks rewinder is tempting fate. Kind of like thrice saying "candyman" while looking in a mirror.

Nice article though. It was a little hard to understand the extent that the stadium finances might be connected the wage/transfer finances, but it confirms that there is money available for building the team.

Bad movie (quite possibly the worst I've ever seen) circa 1992. Apparently you have to say it 5 times...I guess I tried to block out the details.

But since we were directed to keep this thread on finances, I should let you know that it had a budget of approximately $8m and grossed about $27.5m.

Pretty sure the Board managed to take the money as dividends.

    ;)

Speaking of finances, I haven't seen a certain poster on these boards for a while now.

Dude there is a cave in St. Paul MN that has a tunnel entrance that is painted just like that bathroom hole in the wall scene where the characters climb into candymans mouth.

Its kinda freaky if you have certain chemicals in your bloodstream!:D

I would be completely happy with this, if we had the depth to have a favorable shot at winning the EPL/CL. Unfortunately, I still don't see that.

I sometimes wonder how I've supported this club for 47 years without ever losing a wink of sleep worrying about the finances.

Celtic have already released a statement to refute this.

No doubt that Lawell is being looked at due to the success he's brought to our club in a financial sense but I can't see him leaving this season.

Next year is a possibility though.
