Re: Wizards Blog Updates I am a little concerned about starting a rookie (Marquess) at wing back although I fully understand we need to develop our young talent. Every time we start one of the rookies (Leathers, Myers) at wing back we seem to get scored on from that side as someone finds a weakness or there is a communication issue between them and the center backs. That's why Jack moved back to the backline isn't it? Speaking of Myers and Leathers, has Marquess passed up both of these guys in practice to earn a starting spot? Perhaps we are just showcasing him as trade bait for a forward Other than that our lineup looks intriguing.
Re: Wizards Blog Updates I think it's more that both Leathers and Myers are more fit for the right side of defense.
Re: Wizards Blog Updates Coach talked a bit about that in the press conference. He said that Matt was a true left foot player. Myers and Leathers could play there but at the moment, Marquess was the better choice there.

Re: Wizards Blog Updates The weekly interview is up now. Kevin Souter won the fan vote between Down The Byline and BackPost.Net votes. It was pretty even voting on mine but he was a landslide winner on Mike's. http://www.backpost.net/2008/09/weekly-interview-4-kevin-souter.html I also asked Morsink about the rumors he might be called up for Costa Rica. http://www.backpost.net/2008/09/kurt-morsinkcosta-rica-and-national.html
Re: Wizards Blog Updates Some stats from today's game There are some pretty good milestones from the match this week, Zavagnin playing his 300th competitive game with an MLS team, Conrad topping 15,000 minutes for the Wizards in competitive matches, etc.
Re: Wizards Blog Updates Post with lineup and photos from practice today at http://www.backpost.net/2008/09/kansas-city-wizards-practice-09-10-2008.html
Re: Wizards Blog Updates Wolff - Thompson Lopez - Jewsbury - Arnaud - Gomez Harrington - Wahl - Conrad - Leathers Hartman vs. Pore - Trujillo Espinoza - Morsink - Zavagnin - Marinelli Watson - Souter - McKenzie - Myers Kronberg Gomez wide and Arnaud in the middle? That's different. I mean, we do need a better midfield but not sure if that should be Davy and Jack together. I don't know.
Re: Wizards Blog Updates Yet another lineup today. http://www.backpost.net/2008/09/kansas-city-wizards-practice-09-11-2008.html
Re: Wizards Blog Updates I'm a big fan of Lopez and his attitude about adjusting to USA life and all he does for this team, but you know your DP is hella under performing when the coaching staff is contemplating benching him.
Re: Wizards Blog Updates I would be shocked if Lopez is not starting, especially in a big "event" like this one with the original DP himself out there. We are playing against Hartman's former back-up's back-up this weekend.....we need all our offensive weapons out there to pelt him and their weak D non stop.
Re: Wizards Blog Updates My blog isn't "Wizards related," but they do show up in there from time to time. I'm certain that I will post after the "Beckham affair," so if anyone wants to read some mindless chatter, my blog is here.
