On a different note, yeah Atlante acted up. Sucks for them. Though they did get a penalty shot that wasn't called, and quite a few fouls that weren't called in their favor. Where as it seemed that all the NE players had to do was say they got fouled, and done. Sad. You could tell Cruz was like, "If only we hadn't gone to those damn awards..."

you're right. just like last year when beckham was in the final and the galaxy won... seriously. all bullshit aside. if they didn't rig it last year when it made sense to rig it, they sure as shit aren't going to rig it for the revolution of all teams. that makes absolutely no sense. if anything, they'd want a mexican team in the finals to increase the buzz. bad refs are par for the course in mls and concacaf in general. you know this and your shock is disingenuous.

atlante's players acted like a bunch of ********ing babies over losing a meaningless pre-season friendly. that is the bottom line.

Why would SUM want to assure an all-MLS final and guarantee pathetic ratings on the only TV network covering this stupid tournament (Telefutura)?
There's no point since it would be counterproductive to SUM raking in the dollars.

Who knows but it seems pretty obvious that the refs were bought off.

    yup

Atlante wasnt pissed because they lost to some mmls team
they reason why they were pissed was because of the refereeing
just like vilar and profe cruz mentioned after the game

I don't know if it was fixed, but certainly the refs were told to not give penalties in favor of the mexican teams, I mean how many penalties did the Mexican teams got? and how many did the MSL got?
It's just like when we play in CUNTMEBOL.

Wow is that sarcasm? Amazing. Now yes, Atlante did act like babies. I would go so far to say faking babies, because the idea of babies facking is pretty weird.

Now it is not really such a long call to say the MLS bought the refs, it is highly possible. Afterall, the RRREVS and Dynamo did play the last two finals (of the MLS). Atlante has fans, more than any US team has, but would they really want to see a meaningless final. Aside that many Atlante fans right now are still on the bandwagon. Then what other way to make teams feel like, "Hell naw, I'ma have to go back next year and bust a cap up in them biatches." It's not like you would really have to pay these refs ridiculous amounts of money, +/- 1k should do the job.

    Let's see...

MFL teams win 2 years in a row = loss of interest by the fans

MLS teams win this one = MLS fans cry of happyness OMG rivalry rises 110%

Sounds good enuff to guarantee a third cup.

I can't believe there are still people who have doubts about the officiating after those 2 semifinals. I wonder the chaos it would've created in the mls forums if it had been the other way around.

Like i said there's nothing in it for MFL teams, MLS fans get excited because they see a better level of play and intensity they won't find in their league (but MFL fans are used to that already), horrible fields, long trips, bad officiating, and now gets in the way of the MFL season.

Not to mention that for second year in a row one of the MFL teams losses one of their big players like Insua last year and Michel this year.

I watched Atlante for the first time tonight. I'm used to watching Juan Toja playing aggressively but never in anger. While I was impressed with Rey's game he did look a little bit like the defenders that constantly hack on C Ronaldo in England. I'm learning as much as I can about Colombian futbol and was wondering if Rey's always mean spirited or if he was just upset at what was happening in that one game.

I can understand the suspicsion, because the linesmen in this tournament especially were amatuer.

But, i really doubt they were "bought", it doesn't make sense for them to rig an all MLS final. Nobody is gonna watch that. I would be more apt to agree the ref, being Guatamalan, was just biased toward Mexico than him being bought.

Either way, hopefully this stupid tournement is canceled, or at the very least is reformated to be fair..cause right now its just a "glorified" friendly tournement. I hate Superliga.

Thank god for the CONCACAF Champions League, at least that has a chance at being a real meaningful and fair tournement.

Hopefully this is the demise of this Duck Tales tournament. I hope the MFL teams are smart enough to boycott this bullshit tournament. If MFL teams want to participate in international tourneys they should focus in Libertadores and Suramericana IMO. It's already bad enough having to play la concachampions. But at least it gives MFL teams a ticket to el mundial de clubes.

Actually i can see it, I mean seriously look at the MLS forums they are actually buying into thinking the "gap is closing." The way this Tournament was set up was exactly to do that, but in reality anybody with at 50% of there brain can tell me just like you that this is a pre-season glorified tournament.

Just like in every situation regarding playing American teams, the Mexican teams only have themselves to blame, but always maange to balme everyone else. They are the victims of bad referreeing, bad timing, bad stadiums, bad field conditions, bad craft food services, bad seats in the buses, bad movies on the flights to the US, bad bait and switches with the call girls they were expecting... Instead of galvanizing the team na dusing it as motivation, they rssort to pointing fingers and playing who can get the red card.

Who allowed this tournament to happen? Who doesn't give a fúck about the well-being of its teams when there is profit to be made?

Exactly... look at what's happened? One youngster with a huge future ahead of him now has a broken arm.. a couple of players have been knocked up and the MLS teams can now talk shit.

There were cases of bad reffing... without a doubt. And its not like anyone around the world is really watching this tournament with major interest because its not really that important. BUT, Mexican teams should look at this tournament as an opportunity to come in and beat the living shit out of MLS teams... but instead they come, lose and blame it on the fact that they are only in the preseason...

Why is it that the "preseason" only comes up when the MFL teams lose?

D Great- I don't know if you agree with me but I firmly believe that most tournaments are won or lost at the beginning of the season. The first game is just as important as the last. You guys act like they took a 5 month break..

Look im not coming in here making excuses but the way you tried to correct me came off as if the teams where getting already into midseason. Another thing how the hell do you expect our teams to beat the living hell out of teams that are well into season mode, that to me is moronic be realistic. Yes we have to win but dont exaggerate.

if Atlante fouled Shalrie Joseph any more, they would have been arrested for assault. That Shalrie can walk today is a minor miracle.
