That's our sop, I'm sure. Sounds like it's not too serious. Fingers are crossed and hoping all is good.

Scary stuff. I'm glad they were able to walk away relatively unscathed.

Best wishes to SOP, hoping everything is OK, with minimal damage (if any).

    Captain's Log: Stardate 06-30-2008......AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!

OMG, guys!! I do NOT recommend this for your next vacation or Bay tour!

It should be publicly stated that my pilot did one HELLUVA job putting that plane down in a gravel pit the size of a high school baseball field next to the busiest freeway interchange in the Bay Area. WOOF!!

He got a nasty, deep gash over his left eye but walked away from the plane with me...in fact, I couldn't get him to sit still and just keep pressure on the thing but he finally humored me (and the paramedics.) My pilot, Richard, is my MOTM! Me? I'm just REALLY stiff (and not in the good way.)

Thank you, all, for your concern and well-wishes! I look forward to continuing our debate on the merits of Pablo Mastroeni at our next home match v. the Crapids on 7/12!

    C'mon yooooouuuu Quaaaaaakes!!

    With sincere thanks...SOP (a.k.a.--Alan Brooks)

Amen to that. Glad you're OK.

I guess in your line of work, that is an occupational hazard. But I guess whatever doesn't get you in the end indeed makes you stronger for the experience.

Holy crap! I can't believe it was actually you! I'm glad you're all right, I hope everybody realizes how badly that could have turned out and how lucky you are.

One of our own survived a plane crash. Us Quake's fans are undestructable! I'm going to go jump off a freeway overpass now :p.

Glad to hear your okay. Will be a fine story to tell over a few pints, no?

No, get away from that freeway overpass.

    Alan,
Glad to hear you're okay. Best to the pilot and maybe we should find out where we put that Distinguished Pilot of the Year award.
The green and white hoops are happy.

Well, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the paramedics and media will be there moments after you do!....but please, don't. If we're to believe MLS' past attendence records and AEG, there are too few of us Quakes' fans to risk losing any. ;)

Thank you...those first few pints have already gone quickly, as you might imagine. Actually, I was wearing a t-shirt from O'Reilly's on Green Street in SF when this happened and I quipped with someone that my friend, Myles, the owner of the pub, will probably give me grief because I refused on-camera interviews wearing the t-shirt.

Spooky the way that worked out, isn't it? I'd say you're spot on! That's certainly the way I feel!

I was going to say something to that effect, but I figured it was in bad taste under the circumstances.

Very glad to hear you're okay!

Close call eh Alan? Good to hear you're alright especially since the job does require to be in the sky instead of ground... well, rest up and get ready for the next match on July 12--we need yas and the gang.

Glad to hear you and your pilot are okay. I was listening in the car when the reports came in and noticed that they were no longer going to you for the traffic. Scary stuff...
