I know Bryan's name has come up in the past but I was searching through some Copa Libertadores rosters and scores and his name popped up at Sportivo Luqueño, a Paraguyan club. It appears he backs up Enrique García, Luqueño first choice GK. However, according to ESPN's Soccernet, Bryan's played a handful of games this season, even playing in the Libertadores against Atlético Nacional (Colombia) losing 3-1.

Like I said, Bryan's name has come up in the past but I've forgotten his background (and too lazy to look ;) ) and was wondering if anyone had any info. I wonder what his status at Luqueño is and how well his season has gone.

The thread you linked indicates that Bryan was in contention for a spot on Paraguay's U-20 side but was quickly passed over when their fed found out he was American despite being of Paraguyan decent. It also says Paraguay doesn't aknowledge dual citizenship. Never seen Bryan play but maybe it couldn't hurt if Nowak brought him in for a look.

Here's a link to a picture of him in action in the Copa Libertadores. (I think that's the ex-MetroStar King of Goals in the picture with him.)

I've never seen him play either.

But, he is playing first team minutes.

Chris Seitz isn't playing. Neither is Dominic Cervi, Quentin Westberg or Tally Hall.

Every U23-eligible goalkeeper in MLS is a backup and most are third string.

Like you said, it couldn't hurt to give him a look, could it?

According to Soccernet.com, Lopez has started three league games and one Libertadores game.

All 4 games were in April and he hasn't started Luqueno's last two games (one league, one Libertadores) so either the first string GK got healthy again or got back in the coach's good graces.

Still, it's a promising showing for Lopez. Here are the games he played, per soccernet.

    A 0-1 loss to Libertad (April 5)

A 1-3 loss in Copa Libertadores to Atletico Nacional of Colombia (April 10)

    A 2-2 tie with Guarani (April 13)

    A 0-1 loss to Olimpia (April 18)

Bryan Lopez, started a couple of games for Luquenio this season right up to the start of Copa Libertadores, then the team decided to go with a more experienced keeper for the libertadores. He started one game in the Libertadores where they lost 3-1, but he had a pretty good game. Luqueno has a new coach now and he might be getting the starting position pretty soon, and He was born in Queens NY and his parents are Paraguayan, He was called up for the Olympic Qualifiers but when they realized he wasn't a Paraguayan Citizen he was taken off the roster and he has been in Sportivo Luqueno for about 3years.

This game was against Deportivo Nacional (colombia) he had some good saves, they just don't show them in this clip
