Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Bump. Does anyone know the Missouri Bill numbers for this?
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Found it This has been the progress thus far. Note the house vote was 82 ayes, 70 noes. Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 So what does this mean in English? How many more steps are there to go before this is a done deal?
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Well looking at it, it looks like it took it a month to get through the house, so we can probably expect the same amount of time for it to get through the senate.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 I interned in the Missouri House. On the House side, it looks like it was pretty routine and it appears to have been a party line vote or very close to that (not sure but you can look that up if you are interested). It is now in the Senate and there will be a public hearing. This is all standard procedure up to this point. If it was a party line vote, the GOP also controls the Senate. They don't have a filibuster rule per se in the Senate, so I would feel pretty good about it passing.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 My memory is telling me toward the end of June? Does anyone have confirmation of that?
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 The last day of the session is some time in early May. We will have an answer then.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Oooooooooooooh....is our 60-90 days almost up? My, how time flies (yet it doesn't seem to move fast enough to suit our needs). It seems like only yesterday that we were impatiently counting down the days left on Tolbert's petition extension.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 If they break ground in May or June, that puts them on track to have the stadium finished in plenty of time for the start of the 2010 season. 2 years in the CAB before moving into the new home? Really, I don't think we could have it any better, considering everything that's happened since Lamar put the team up for sale way back when.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 We have new activity on the 3 trails vote 04/15/2008 Public Hearing Held (S) 04/10/2008 Executive Session Held (S) 04/15/2008 SCS Reported Do Pass (S) 04/16/2008 SCS Adopted (S) 04/16/2008 Third Read and Passed (S) 04/16/2008 Reported to the House (S)
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 So it wasn't already in the House? I thought that's what the H stood for when you previously posted....
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 No, I think that means that the Senate is reporting their version of the passed bill to the house so they can hammer out any necessary compromises between the two versions.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Actually I think if the Senate had voted on it the results of the vote would be in there. Maybe not.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 04/16/2008 Third Read and Passed (S) YEAS: 32 NAYS: 1 04/16/2008 Reported to the House (S) 04/21/2008 House Refuses to Concur, Requests Sen. Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 So they both passed it but the Senate made some change that's getting the House's panties in a twist. Anyone in the know on the sticking point here?
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 The budget line item is the same as it was when it was introduced, $10,086,123 so it must be some other budget item they are squabbling over.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Repped for the updates and research. Looks like it's gone to committee in both chambers. That scares me a bit. You know which senators and reps to email! (If those in the know think it would help.) 04/22/2008 Senate Conference Committee Appointed (S) SENATORS NODLER, MAYER, RUPP, BRAY AND GREEN 04/22/2008 House Conference Committee Appointed (H) REPRESENTATIVES ICET, ROBB, STREAM, STORCH AND KOMO
