Tsk, Arsenal is the official disgrace of the Libertadores. And it isn't like they are really doing good in the league either, they're pretty weak this year, in the other hand Liga looks like a solid side, i am telling you these guys will do some noise this year. It could be seen before the cup started that Group 8 was going to be terrible for unprepared teams. In the other hand River seems to be over their problems to get results earlier this year and looks like they are on the right track now.
Well, I think you're referring to the Caracas-Cruzeiro game, right? IMHO, the PK that was called in Cruzeiro's favor seemed legit. Furthermore, I am not blaming Catolica's loss on the ref (that would be ridiculous). However, UC did outplay River for large portions of the match and didn't take their chances. Whereas River did. The red card should've been a yellow (tough tackle, but Nunez did make an attempt to put his foot down, locoxriver ). Not to say that with the unfairly invalidated goal and 11v11 UC would've won, but it definitely would've made for an interesting last 15-20 min. Congrats to River on their victory--peguense con una piedra en el pecho, igual! Metro
LDU Quito .. first team to qualify for 8th's, with 10 points an top of their group.. they put 6 into Arsenal , who also received 6 from fluminense earlier.
Group 2 Danubio 2 - 0 Deportivo Cuenca Estudiantes LP: 2-1-1 (4/2, +2) 7 CA Lanús: 1-3-0 (4/2, +2) 6 Deportivo Cuenca: 1-3-1 (2/3, -1) 6 Danubio: 1-1-3 (4/7, -3) 4
Great news for the two Argentine sides of the group. When are Estudiantes and Lanus scheduled to play? A win for Lanus would minimize the chances of the other two making it out.
I think, it seems a little shady, that most of the argentinian and brazilian teams play the last games of their groups as locals. It just seems it gives them a better opportunity in the long run. IMO.
I still dont think is a correct parameter. I understand the first match. But I dont see it necessary for the last one.
Group 3 Boca Juniors 4 - 3 Colo Colo Atlas: 2-1-1 (7/4, +3) 7 Boca Juniors: 2-1-1 (8/6, +2) 7 Colo Colo: 2-0-2 (8/8, 0) 6 UA Maracaibo: 0-2-2 (3/8, -5) 2
What an unbelievable game! The ********ing ref gives a red to Monzon in the first 20 minutes, Colo Colo scores, Palermo misses a penalty, Colo Colo scores again in a clear offside, and Boca playing with one less player dominates and comes back to win! Boca is the greatest, I already told my wife I don't care what she says its a weekday but I'm getting drunk tonight!!!
It was a fun game, but I have to say that Colo Colo let Boca win. They decided to pull back when they should've gone forward instead. It's one of the things that I'll never understand about Chilean futbol.
So wth is wrong with Chivas this year? They usually have half the Mexican NT in their squad...how come they are under performing?
They push foward, but they cant finish...and with all their starters. Will Chivas be able to qualify to the second round ?
