There not contract for the cuban players, them are amateurs, or at least is what the goverment in Cuba says. The players really don't have others jobs, other than play football. So for that part is not problem

Thanks CC, I didn't know if there was a pro league in Cuba or not. Like you said, one less thing to worry about.

So, are you going to come to Charleston for any matches?

I watch the game last nigth Alonso look pretty good in the midfield, but I think he will more productive for the team playing closes to the fowards and toward to the right went he did it last nigth the team look more dangerous.
I think he is pretty solid with the team, I will surprise if the Charleston don't give him a contract

I think Alonso looked better Saturday. Mind he still looked pretty good last night but weather played a big factor in that match. I know the owners and the coaches all want him. I think it is just a matter of working out the details.

he and Agulera look very comfortable together I lok forward to their partnership this season.

It's a safe bet, that Alonso will be signed, he has been impressive. I hope Pato gets signed too, they both still need to get match fit.

Rumor has it, that a couple of "recently liberated" under 23 types might be coming in for a trial too. How many internationals are we allowed to have on the roster?

we are allowed 7, but I believe the Cubans will have Green cards or refuge status and not count and I know Pato has a green card as well so he wouldnt count either.

From what I've seen, between Zoey (new nickname for Alonso?) and Pato, Lazo is no longer a shoo-in for the starting XI. In fact, I'd say he's third in line....if he gets a contract at all. I'm still assuming Armstrong's talent level is the same as last year and he's our other center mid. However, if we go with the 4-5-1 again this year, maybe Lazo will sneak in but I'd first like to see Alonso, Pato and Armstrong all on the field at once...that would be interesting.....

Any news about the Lester More injury? For what I saw in the last two games he gone to have great chances. Nothing really imprese for the foward that played.

More saw some time in a scrimage during practice yesterday. he looks set to see some time on Saturdays match. Also returning will be Randi Patterson who got the start and played 90 min with TnT v. El Salvador on Wed night. Im really excited about seeing both of them in action on Saturday.

Hey, check out this blog by Jen Chang, he writes for ESPN and he's been training with the Battery all week and played in the scrimmage yesterday. He had a long talk with More, it's at the top, under the section "Final Day with the Battery".

Lester More reminds me of Roy Lassiter --> always offside. More must have been offside 5-6 times.

Great showing by Patterson. His 2nd goal was a beautiful header.
