So I have now joined the Facebook group as well. I was a little shocked to not see some of our more regular posters on there when I have seen them say they have FB accounts. Oh well, they will come around I guess.

Im being lazy now, but does anyone know of (ie post a link;)) a list with pics of top flight referees? Our ref sunday was spouting boss talk about doing a Liverpool match and giving interesting Stan Collymore anecdotes... Mebe he's been "retired" by age and hence the sunday league turnouts, I know we have him fairly regularly but he did say something about that would be a badge of honour for me if he is/was bigtime, it'd show how far my charge of bringing the game into disrepute has gotten my rep! (most likely not a good thing)!

    CAPELLO OUT!!!!!

Well, I gave him a chance, and the dullard failed us. Sure Psycho as a coach is awesome, but wonder how he feels losing Gabbi and Young from the U21 qualifier tuesday to most likely ride the bench as the DULLEST era of 3lions soccerball ever begins.....

    :(is me:(

He had a chance, as did Mcsven, THE only part of the job is to NOT be dumbheaded when picking squads. He failed. Done, make like Vinnie Mac and GET THE F OUT!!!!!!

...well mebe, but then if the U21s sit on the bench when they wuda started in a competitive game I'll be proper maaad...

and why use tried & tested FAILURES like downingsyndrome, carson, bridge etc etc in the name of experimentation?!?!

But wotevs, u guys know im portuguese right

I think Capello just needs to see everyone, and judge for himself how well they follow his orders/tactics before writing them off. Which in my opinion is the right thing to do. Like Johnson failed for England when he was out on the right, but to not give him another chance cos of that bad game would be silly.

Still think it would have been nice for him to pick Beckham and give him his 100th cap. Thats what Becks is desperate for, i think once he's got that he will retire from the International game. Until he gets it. Its just going to linger on. So it would have made sense for Capello to pick him for this friendly then its done and over with.

As for Young and Gabbi i think that they deserve their places. Young has been outstanding for Villa this season and he's a natural left sided player. Way better than Downing or anyone else we've had playing there!

U make a decent point and I agree about AJ, but a) it doesn't take a genuis to realise certain players just ain't gonna cut it and b) it's not like Capello hasn't sinned in the past, he was put on gardening leave but kept on screen as a puppet after the Becks ish last year.
And as for his tactics, well I know double-negatives make a positive in mathmatics, but in soccer....

Don't get me wrong, gabs and ash defn are a shout to even start for the full team in the next year, I love villa nowadays (esp now they bought routledgend!) BUT I just don't get the point in crippling the U21s for a friendly?!?!
