I thought it might interesting for people to indicate where their seats are in the new stadium, Cauldron or otherwise. Section 113, Row 11 Seats 1-3
Seriously - we could do call/response cheers... it could be a great way to get more people involved in the chants, songs and cheers that previously wouldn't have the opportunity. I would love to see a equally vocal but perhaps less rowdy section or subsection over on the berm...
Yes, I am completely serious about this. I have talked with Dave and Sam a few times about it, getting a satellite Cauldron over there that would know our chants and it would really help in getting the rest of the fans involved in some of the mass-chanting. And the call/response would be great if we can come up with some quality chants.
16, except for some that have handicapped seating at the top, which have 14 plus that 1. The upper bleacher sections will probably have 13 rows. Field Side Reserved has 3. I can't remember how many The Cauldron has.
I am still up in the air on this. I fortinitly have created a whole house of Wizards fans but now I am unable to afford tickets for all of them. So the berm might be the only way to go if everyone wants to see the game.
I might be there with you. Unforseen circumstances may find my season ticket moving to that locale for this year and making some but not all games.
completely valid. Although the cauldron is GA, is there going to be anyone from stopping people to walk in section? Just look like you know where you are going.
okay, so i'm still deciding whether to buy season tickets and if so, where to get them. maybe this has been discussed before and i missed it, but can someone help me out with the logic behind the pricing. stadium seats and bleacher season tickets are both a 10% discount from the price you would pay if you bought them the day of all 18 games, but the grass berm season tickets are a 45% discount. why the difference? it clearly becomes the best deal and is at first glance, hard to pass up. am i missing something?
I had the same thought when Sam announced in the other thread that the Cauldron would be GA. I assume GA, in this case, only means "no assigned seats" and not "anybody can sit there". And only slightly more on-topic: I'm leaning heavily toward berm tickets myself.
Did anyone here select seats today? I go tomorrow, I'm curious to find out what I'm selecting from. As for the berm...at T-Bones games, families bring blankets, spread out, and relax in the grass. Does the FO expect the same kind of behavior from soccer fans? Will the FO be tolerant of a "Cauldron Annex" out there? A group of fans doing what the Cauldron does at the base of the berm might make it tough to sell berm seats to the rest of the population. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. It's just something to think about.
You'll be pleasantly surprised. With the exception of a few select seats (the covered seats in 109), you'll be able to slide in somewhere you want to be, because enough people have enough different idas as to where they want to be. Full-out standing will not be allowed on the berm. Of course, people will get up during exciting moments, but, like at Arrowhead outside the Cauldron, standing the whole game will be offside.
The Berm can basically be divided into 3 sections: Right side from the wall to the steps, center from the steps to the tunnel, and left from tunnel to wall. What about designating the center section, the smallest of the three, as a Cauldron Satellite and allow standing/cheering/chanting like in the Cauldron. It would not block peoples view, since it is on the end line. If there is a site line issue, make it the far left section, from steps to wall..... Just a thought.
It's a grass berm. Frankly, nobody's quite sure how it's all going to play out when it rains. Plus, you get the setting sun. If you don't care about the creature comforts and just want to get into the game, this is a phenomenally cheap way to do it.
1. The RF berm is even steeper than the LF berm. 2. Sorry, part of the bargain in the berm is that there aren't a lot of amenities. Allowing standing in an undeveloped area requires additional security and would then require special handling to segregate from the other berm sections. Dave F. can explicate more, but it isn't going to happen.
i have a feeling that the cauldron is definitely not going to be as full next year. mainly the newbies, people that come to every other game or so, are going to be intimidated by the 20 dollar price tag and probably just head over to the berm. so i'm thinking the berm sounds like fun-no? oh yeah and where are the argies going to be?
