I know the last time it came up, I said I'd take one of my jerseys and set it on fire, but upon further review, he may be a whiny bitch, but he'd be our whiny bitch.
While I am not crazy about him as a person and I dislike him as a Mexican national team player; I am all for this move if it gives us a more consistent striker.
I dont believe at his age (34), and with his lack of production over the last few years (at Bolton and Cruz Azul) that he would add any form of consistency. and he is a bitch.
What is known about him personally? Is he locker room poison or just a punk on the field to other players?
He would help sell out the stadium for the next two years. You saw what Blanco brought to Chicago... He could bring that to our town, and why not when we are in this stadium phase. I would love to see more hispanics out at the game.
Oh jeez. I totally get not buying tickets because you can't afford them or the team's inept decision making has dragged on to where you don't think they care (Columbus). Instead, you sound like the Chicago fans that did this same hand-wringing about accepting the "enemy" in Blanco, then started the Blanco Nut Rider Club thread after he rescued their team from becoming Columbus. I don't know if I want the Wizards to sign him either, but if he's 34 and sucks, he won't be wearing my club's jersey for more than a year or two anyway. I personally don't think he's equivalent to Blanco - on the field, or even close to as big of a draw. I'm also not going to give up on the club because they sign a player I don't like. Shouldn't all true Wizards fans have given up their tickets when we signed Hartman? Paraphrasing Jerry Seinfeld, I root for the laundry. Borgetti would help us in the air and on set pieces, but I'm concerned his heart isn't in it like it used to be.
Two years ago...it would been amazing signing, but now... he not worth a regular $200,000 a year salary. Borgetti: very slow, depends too much on the crosses, he's 34. Sorry, his best days are gone.
borgetti is a whiny player against his rivals, but with the teams he is in, he is a leader, constantly talking to the players, advice, comfronts the ref. he is 34, evev when he was younger he wasn't a fast sig sag running foward, so i dont know what u guys are comparing to. but one thing that borghetti does have massted was ability to move in the area the right place, and finish, ask anybody around the world have you ever heard of a foward named Jared Borgettin, they will definately say yes and give you a good response. Something that borgetti adds to the team, will be the options, that will give the team to work on set plays such as free kicks, corners, things that he is a master in,a big percentage of any teams goals are done through set plays. and he did fairely well with small minutes he got in bolton,(thats what happens when the organization asks for a player that the coach didn't), and when he played inthe emirates he scored alot of goals, there was good feed back about him from bolton and Saudi fans. THE ONLY THING HE NEEDS IS SOMEBODY that knows how to center the bal well, if guys have that u guys will get gaurenteed goals. I really wish he comes to the fire, with a guy like blanco that knows borgetti like the back of his hand we will unstopable. but will see what happens. and one thing about him, that any fan respects. HE WILL WORK HIS ASS OF AND RUN AFTER EVERY BALL. HE HAS A BIG WORK ETHIC, like his countryman
yea...lets ask the bolton fans what they think of borgetti. he's old and doesnt have a good form. theres no need to waist money on him in the talent department. if the kansas city organization is looking for a marketing standpoint then thats a different story.
MLS isn't on a level where they can yet compete with the talent level in the EPL, especially from a team like Bolton. I'll take what I can get.
Will we have any problem selling out the little CAB? This would almost certainly increase the demand for tickets but as a DP I don't like this move any more than trading away Yura
that's just it. it's not on a talent level with a team like bolton. he wasn't good enough for bolton, and now he's two years older than that.
The only thing that's even remotely appealing about Borgetti's possibly playing here is that he would almost assuredly score a goal or two off a corner kick.
That's a really good question. It's easy to sell 10,000 seats in Arrowhead, because there are waaaaay more than 10,000 good seats in the building. I don't think all 10,000 of the seats in the CAB will qualify as "good" for soccer. Will this drive some people away after a couple of games? That remains to be seen, but the FO is smart to be thinking about adding a player with something of a built-in following.
well if it does happen, can't wait for him to shut people up that are doubting him, i have seen everygame of his for 10 years up till this past season. and just how i knew blanco would shut people up, i know borgetti will, or else i wouldn't open my mouth. i see him play and i watched the mls season this past season, and im fully convinced he will come and be a big asset to team and reward you with work ethic and goals. unless you havent seened his season games, and only basing it on a USA. vs Mexico level. well then your pretty much dont know much. i follow both leagues, and im confident about this move. its always good to have striker, who has scored goals an international competitions, world cup, confederations, copa america, english premier league.has scored amazing goals against world classe deffenses, Germany, Italy's,Argentina's, brazil's, holland's. he knows how to play in BIG GAMES, and u can always use a player with that experience.
