You should have put the Grim Reaper in a Crew kit.

That would have been way cool. Maybe not Angelina Jolie kissing other chicks cool, but more of like that chick at Cold Stone just looked at me all hot like while she was making my double hot fudge sundae and dripping the topping suggestively kind of cool.

Is it really considered a puppet when it's clear who the writer is? The first thing I read was "snake oil salesmen" and immediately knew who it was.

There's also the fact that there aren't a lot of people that have the determination and will to set up such a thing.

Are you saying it's not your work?

I'm not making any accusations here, but let's take a wide look around. To say it is a sockpuppet is probably a safe bet. As for who has control of said sock?

How many people say "Columbus Crew" as opposed to "The Crew" or "The Columbus Crew" or some variation thereof? That's probably another clue. The MySpace Blog includes "scheduled our first meeting for December 15th, location will be at either Fado..." I've seen that before, as opposed to something like ... "December 15th. The location will be..." In other words, it could be someone who doesn't like to use the word the.

It could also be multiple persons. Who said it that only one is in charge?

I saw this last night and thought it was interesting. Nice slap to us in there as well, about what we can or can't do as supporters, essentially. Hey, our stadiums downtown and in a bad neighborhood, we should be rolling in all the urban fans. What's the deal? (j/k)

I think the groups in DC, Toronto, and RSL that they refer to have the advantage of superior organizing. People dedicated the time and made the sacrifices to do the dirty work consistently over time and it paid off. I think we could do this and get our corner in the NE rocking in 08, or at least I'd really like to see that happen.

More to the point, the guy probably doesn't even know that CCS is downtown. Most don't get that; must be the grass lot.

It's more downtown and urban than it is suburban!

agreed. downtown doesn't have to mean amongst the skyscrapers. it's in an urban area, and there is a lot of urban housing all around the stadium, a much higher popullation density (which is the biggest factor in all honesty in what the article is saying) than if you were out in New Albany or someplace where people have yards to mow around every house.

It's a five minute drive to the State House.

    Yes, I consider that downtown.

fair enough, although that 5 minute drive is a helluva walk... id call it in an urban area, but downtown is the neighborhood within the innerbelt, in my mind, and id imagine a lot of others, as well.

    innerbelt of what?

it's only 4.2 miles according to yahoo maps, that's an hour walking really slow.

Not that I or anyone else with a half a brain would ever want to walk it.

270 is the outerbelt. the freeways that make up the ring around downtown, the innerbelt. the area inside that, thatd be downtown. the urban vs suburban thing would be right, though. i just dont think anyone (unless you live way out in the sticks, maybe) could say that the crew have a downtown stadium. not that it matters, really, but...

anyway, just using that definition of downtown, its really, REALLY broad. i mean, i live MAYBE a mile and a half (a quick walk in any case) from lodo and the central business district in denver, and i sure as hell wouldnt say i live downtown. but, semantics...

Are you really that ********ing daft that you don't know the fairgrounds and CCS are INSIDE 270? In fact by your very definition of Freeway access, CCS is about 2 miles away from the center of the innerbelt since it's that far away from the I70-71 split which makes up the "ring" around downtown.

    Buy a map sometime.

CCS is downtown; ask anyone in the area and they'll tell you so.

i never said the outerbelt defines downtown, i said the innerbelt does.
