I heard different in "Futbol Picante." I heard that if River won the return leg would be in Argentina but if Arsenal won, it would be in Azteca... I'm not sure though.
CONMEBOL has a rule that in case a CONCACAF team makes the final then the return leg will always be played in South America.
I know they have the rule about finishing the series in South America if a Mexican team is involved in the final. But honestly would you rather play here: Or here:
Doesn't matter the return leg is going to be in Argentina. They might not play in Arsenal's home stadium but it will be in Argentina.
You think Azteca will sell out? Tix will probably be really cheap even if it's a final cuz it's a mid-week game. I hope we get 100,000 to show up. lol at all the River fans. A lot of them haven't even left the stadium. They're still in shock. Pasarella's days are definitely numbered at River.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if he goes to coach in Mexico... he already coached Monterrey in the past and won los Rayados last title.
WOW what a CHOKE! by River Plate!!!! I too wanted a River final, not only would it have been more fun to have a final at Azteca and Monumental but also a more open played final. Arsenal and America are very similar. They both have a wall of a defense and great keepers. I expect the final to be really close, tough played in the middle and whoever gets OFF the script will either Win or Lose. I honestly think River would have been a bit easier rival even having to play the decisive match at home at the monumental they are really hurting, they have alot of players with injuries and they are just not as solid of a team as Arsenal is. This Arsenal team reminds me of that Eurocup champ Greece NT from 2004. They have an amazing scheme on defense, it's basically a wall! and when they do attack they do it amazingly well, they bring alot of numbers, spread the ball out on both wings and they do it so precisive and calm its just amazing to watch. This team is no push over by any means, they maybe the smaller club but if you take them lightly they will kill you! It happened to san lorenzo, chivas and now River. America will have to be very concentrated and not get too confident, as it happened with River it will be hard to even create ONE clear goal opportunity so if or when America gets that they need to capitalize. Beluchi had an amazing goal oppotunity at the 10th min. of play and he blew it, never again was River again able to penentrate that wall of a defense by Arsenal and eventually that was the key play of the game so if America gets those opportunities they cant missfire on those or it will cost them. Id love to see America win this final because they are the only ones left rep. our country but knowing my country as well as I know mi pronostico es que America will get too confident much like it happened to Chivas and they will fail to win this final. Hope Im wRong But we"ll see......
