I don't know if HSH or La Turbina have any interest in this, but I know a couple of us within Local 103 had talked about using "Crew Supporters' Union" as the umbrella group name and then underneath that you'd have the sub-groups of Turbina, Hudson, and Columbus Local, or whatever.

That's a bit wordy though, and I think it would be awesome if you could get something that hits home and is short enough to put on signage or whatever.

    Random Ideas:
La Horca (assuming google translation is correct, this means "the gallows", so it insinuates death, but it's also where we'd "hang-out" get it, what a pun!) then again, maybe this would turn away the hispanic soccer moms (thinking FO logic)?

I've been trying to think of some others, but nothing else seems very good compared to this. Short, sweet, to the point, impactful, it could easily be printed on a ticket or put on a stadium map or even on a sign that points which way in the stadium you have to go to get there.

When I spoke to Keeney he actually said he'd like to see about getting the supporters group names printed onto the map of the stadium. That way its clear from the beginning what the sections are.

If people are thinking a Spanish name for the corner (if the corner really gets named at all) ... someone should try to reach out to La Turbina to help with that.

Or even better, don't over think it. Just show up and support the team. Up or down.

Mike, how many 103 people have you spoken to about moving to 101?

Clem, Walt, and Kevin were at the meeting with me and are on board. Kaiser is also on board. I haven't spoken to Graham about it, but his last email pretty much said that he wanted nothing to do with the Crew until at least January. That's it so far.

This is what Brad said a lot of the folks in 103 had told him. They'd go wherever the group went.

There are definitely upgrades for the website planned. The idea of using the website for all three groups was brought up during the meeting, and I was planning on discussing the issue with the others involved as well as Grant from HSH.

Hey - if anyone needs new graphics/logos/banners. Please, let me know.

I can rework the CSU logo I designed for different Locals or to bring in the other groups.

Brad and co know me now and I can work with them if your getting new banners and what-not.

I personally think you could name it "Crew Corner" and get Dionne Miller to do her pregame shit over there.

I'll second that. I think I could get behind that one.

The Dionne Miller thing, not the name. ;)

I'm confused as to what's wrong with our current banner(s) and why we would need a new one from the F.O.? Why would we have to change our name? Is it really that big of a deal as far as the name goes if CSU:L103 sits in 101?

I am not against moving per se but I think we should try and have a discussion about how it will effect the sightline?

Am I reading correctly that the FO & Keeney would "disown" us if we stayed in 103?

I think that we should also put a page on the site for SA as well, as it'll be qualifier time before too long.

Maybe they're not far enough along in the process of how exactly the stage will work, but Mike (or anyone), do you know if for US games they would install temporary bleachers to replace the missing seating?

I'm just curious, but am I the only one who thinks this sucks?

Just to make sure I've got it right, there's going to be an empty stage, right behind the north goal, all season, with no fans in it. Less seats, less fans, less atmosphere. Less appealing for Mexico games.

Not logistically possible? What the HELL does that mean (other than the FO doesn't know what logistically means). Hard to imagine it would be impossible for supporters to get from one area of the stadium to the other on gameday.

Yes, the FO is being nicey, nicey, but they should be, since they have just done something damaging to the Crew (IMHO).

There is still a chance there might be access to the stage on gameday for the supporters groups ... if the stage is going to be used for a pre/post-game concert. I believe one of the thoughts is to get in some kind of act occasionally to add more of a college draw. The tickets being distributed as part of college packages are going to be for the assigned seating above the general admission supporter sections.

I absolutely agree that an empty stage is going to hurt the team much much worse than the limited revenue the club is going to see from the occasional concert. I'd love to know what Andy and Will think about this situation.

There is nothing wrong with our current banners, in fact there is going to be space for us to hang these banners in the new location. The FO simply expressed interest in helping each of the groups in the creation of new banners.

As for the name change, I don't think we necessarily have to change the name just because the section we sit in has changed. I don't think there is any hurry to make changes, so we should discuss this as a group.

As for the sightline, it will obviously affect the view of play on the south side of the field a little. However, moving down two sections will add to the atmosphere of the supporters corner and enhance the view of play on the north side especially for corners on the east side.

In no way did the FO indicate that they would disown us if we did not move down to 101. They explained the benefits to all involved and it seems like a great idea to help coordinate the three groups while still allowing each group to maintain their identity.

The way it was explained was that there is going to be an empty stage some of the time. The stage area can be used in several different ways, and the FO is going to experiment with different options. Temporary bleachers will be placed on the stage for special sold out games like a US vs. Mexico match. However, the temporary seating is not going to be on the stage for every single regular season game because it is not worth the time and money to assemble and disassemble more than once or twice a season.

Tickets - Obviously the more restricted their sales are, the fewer problems arise. I see the following options for purchasing:

    1) Through the FO through Brad Kessler only. If someone wants tickets with the supporters, all calls are routed through Brad.

    2) The supporter's website.

    3) Day of game, either at the tailgate or at a pre-determined ticket window and only one ticket window.

Website - I like that idea. I imagine something like what Fid does with the scarves. There'd be a website with photos and a paypal link. Maybe the link would go to the FO, maybe not. If it's done through the FO, maybe people would feel more secure giving money that direction than to some supporter they may or may not know. Maybe even sell the stuff (sort of underground-ish) through the FO directly. -- If people wanted to buy their scarves and t-shirts on gameday or just stop in and save the shipping, I don't see why they'd be denied.

Torcida Columbus - You're exactly right. I know exactly of whom you speak. There used to be pictures floating around cyberspace, but I think they're all gone.

Temporary bleachers for USA games -- Unless they're really rickety, why not put Sam's Army in them? I'm guessing they don't want people jumping around in something temporary, is that it?

In the "Special Game C" thread, someone mentioned a family section where employees could lead the kiddies in basic cheers. Why not have that section by the tunnel, considering there's already a lot of kids there anyway for the jerseys and autographs and focus Crew Cat and the Crewzers on the section for the cheerleading?

I don't have a problem moving from 103. I know its already been done, but why not name the corner the Black Hole.

I don't see the point in changing the name, either. Yeah, the 103 came from the section we sat in last year, but is that connection really so significant that it's worth changing the number when we already have banners, shirts, and coozies with Local 103 on them?

I think changing the number every year would be a lot more confusing than just having Local 103 sit in section 101.

If the Local might move next season and maybe even once again, would people be into the idea of Local 614 and keeping it that way?

Other Locals could go with their area's main area code too - e.i. Local 718 for Brooklyn fans?

Not a bad idea there. Plus a tshirt with the local numbers and cities on the back would look pretty cool as well.

I second the Local:614 also. That way, no matter what section you were in, you could still be a part of 614...
