Those are some really good aquisitions. They'll be a better team for sure this year

lots of acquisitions, glad to see it but would have preferred some quality. Di michele is the only proven/non-retirement age striker acquired and...

Hopefully he learned a big lesson. I wonder of Toro will appeal

Doesn't look like it. Toro isn't Giuve after all, so the appeal would be futile for any desired leniency.

BTW, if you haven't seen him play you are going to love Lavezzi, he is strong fast n quite skilled, a poor man's Messi, if you will.

Torino lead Lazio 1-0 with a gem of a goal from Alessandro Rosina. A cucchiaio (chip shot) from just outside the area that drifted over Ballotta and into the net. Novellino must be managing Rosina well, because he is making smarter decisions, and is not the dribble-instead of-pass Rosina we saw last year.

    2-2 FT.

Lazio took a 2-1 lead, but young 21 year old midfielder Tommaso Vailatti scored on a header to tie it up.

You guys got recoba on loan. He's very good when not hurt, and will def. be able to get 15 goals, if not injured. His skills and passising and creativity are sensational and again when not injured (not often:mad:) he is one of the best forward/attacking mids in the world

must feel really good to know that whenever you play against a southern team, you've got the full support of the referee ..... just like every other northern side, you rely on referee decision to help you win games..... but despite the fact your 2nd goal against us was illegitimate and instead of getting a penalty for your amateur defender kicking Joelson in the head, we get an indirect freekick... we still managed to get a draw.... having said that, we deserved to win.... not that you care... because in the north its not about winning with honour, its about winning with the referees hand in your back pocket.....

shame toro ... shame on you and you entire northern network.

Yeah, yeah. Lokk mate, be happy you left there with a point, i can assure you that once doughboy Recoba gets in shape, and he and the rest of the players get in sync, you will be praying to your ancestors african gods to score at least a draw against Il Toro on the return match down there in Algiers, eh, Calabria.

Hopefully you actually saw the game - i could not - and so you are providing commentary based upon your own actual observations and not the news.

    Italian blood23:

Thank you, i know about Chino Recoba, back when he played with Nacional in Uruguay. He has always been an enigma, his skill level, particulalry in distribution, has always been obvious to everyone, but he gets hurt quite frequently. why? Because if it's not the world Cup, he is renowned for his lack of desire to maintain a top physical condition. You can pull that off in your early twenties, but he should see this as a very bad sign. Inter finally let him go because, despite being the mysterious favorite of Moratti, he never established himself as deserving a start. Look at Figo on Inter, he is 68 years old i think, and remains in peak physical condition.

That said, i am very happy there is SOMEONE there to help Rosina. I can't wait til Di Michiele gets back oin the groove.

I was impressed with their comeback at Lazio, i think the team is far better alreqady than it was last year, very happy with the work of Sereni , Grella and Vailatti, from the Toro youth system. However, this year's Serie A is loaded, and improvement is necessary for survival. We shall, see, i remain, against my nature with this club, cautiously optimistic.

    Forza Toro

WHAT?! Where on earth did Benfica get that kind of money? That can't possibly be true, unless Abramovic bought them overnight, or something.

where did u hear that? i just looked for it and couldn'yt find it anywhere. While i don't think Toro would let him go anyway, if Cairo were to bite on that, he would miss out on the chance to make much more $ later on. I think he will be in the Euro squad next summer, and his value will increase three fold.

I also can'te really see Benfica forking over that much dough for a relatively unproven player. Everyone can see his is supremely skilled, but he is just beginnig his 2nd year of top flight calcio.

Cairo would be roasted by the fans and press if he did that.

Bah, it won't happen. Not this season at least. Rosina is still the heart and soul of this squad, and until Toro finds a brand new #10 that is anywhere near as talented as Rosina then they'd only be hurting their future chances of ever qualifying for a spot in Europe. PLus, I'm sure tha within a couple of years Rosina will be worth more than just 20 million euros.

Of course they'll want to keep him, but if the Spanish clubs are paying more than there's nothing Cairo can do. Rosina will most likely leave if he's not going to be getting 1 mill a season (after this season)

Also Atletico Madrid are after him

Rosina and Recoba seem to be linking up very well. When Di Michele comes back they are going to have a trio of fantasia!

Well, awake and hungover after my Florida Gators lose yet again to the most universally despised team in the SEC, those Auburn Tigers. How to recover?

Derby della Molle!!!! Three and a half hours away!!

I sat in front of my computer five years ago furious with yet another loss to the Gobbi. That team was atrocious, one of the worst i'd had the misfortune to root for, even worse than last year's Toro rendition. i'm shocked at how fresh that memory remains.

While Jumerdus should be favored, particularly without Rosina-ldo playing, i feel like this team can surprise. recoba knows all the pressure is on him, he gets up for Juve, always has. I am frankly relieved that Franchesini and DiLoeto are out, although Dellafiore is worries me in the middle. Barone needs to have a great game on the left side, needs to put Nocerina on his heels, Really attack him. He needs to make his presence felt so Commoto doesn't need to run up and down the left flank all day. He needs to not tire himself out and be relatively fresh for the last 15 minutes. That won't happen unless Barone gets his head out of his ass ands starts to become the man all thought he'd be when Cairo got him last year. Grella and Corini will have their hands full with Nedved, but the duo have lots of experience, understand the magnitude of the game from the toro perspective, but are long time vets of big, heated matches. their poise will be important if Jumerdus score first.

Sereni will be the main man, if he can play mistake free and frustrate Trez and Del Piero in the first half, i think the Toro will at least try to go forward in the second half. I wish Ventola wasn't the only option up front, but With no Stellone or Rosina, he needs to justify why Cairo has had a hard on to get him the last two years.

Jumerdus are missing big players as well, so the lack of Di michelle, Rosina, Stellone and the liklihood of playing safe not to lose is highly, highly likely.

    1- 1 final.

    FORZA TORO!!!

This was an entertaining game, very intensely played. That goal by Juventus was a shock--this game deserved to be a draw.
