Just realized I made a typo on this prediction; I had predicted 2 scorers for Rennes but only put one goal. It should read 2-1. I'll let the board decide if I get the benefit of the doubt or not

Dude, it's a game on a message board, so of course you get the benefit of the doubt. That's my opinion, anyway.

I'm down 4-3 heading into Nancy-Nice. That means I have to get the result and score right to win. Argh! Alright, anyway, here is my pick.

    Nancy 1 (Dia)-0 Nice

It looks like you posted this during the actual match. I don't think that is fair for everyone if you get the benefit of the doubt. I have nothing against you, but that might set a bad precedent. If you get your prediction changed, anyone can just say the same thing again in another week. Also your new prediction significantly changes the amount of points you get. Instead of getting no points you get 2. If you said that you changed your score to 2-2 it would be different. Your new prediction just seems too suspicious. I know you wouldn't cheat on a prediction game on a forum, but I think we should try to keep the integrity of the prediction game. By the way, I hope this post didn't sound dramatic or excessively strict. That is not my intention.

IMO he gets the benefit of the doubt

midknight, it looks like the consensus is that you will get the benefit of the doubt. I have no problem with that it's just I don't think it was fair since you broke a rule. Whether people actually feel that you deserve the points or they are just posting against my views as a habit it looks like you will get the points. Again I have nothing against you, and good luck with your other predictions.

Because last year someone posted their late prediction of an exact score line for a game that had just ended. It happens..anyways, in this case i think we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But to make sure this does NOT happen again, please refrain from posting goalscorers in your predictions. It's unneccessary and as we've just seen it has opened up a can of worms...

Thought I better post the new results before I got accused of discriminating against a certain, paranoid Lille fan!

I didn't even think it would provoke all this brouhaha.

I don't see what was 'suspicious' about my 'new prediction' - I had clearly indicated 2 scorers in the original post and if I had edited my original post there would have been a trace of it. I think it would have been a lot more suspicious if the game had drawn 1-1 and i said, my bad, i meant to put one goal and wrote 2 scorers for some inexplicable reason.

That said, Its quite okay Douai, I didn't take your comments personally, most of your points were valid.

Here are this week's predictions sans goalscorers

    Sochaux 2-1 Monaco
    Auxerre 2-0 Caen
    Le Mans 1-1 Lille
    Lorient 1-2 Lyon
    Metz 2-2 Paris SG
    Saint Etienne 2-1 Bordeaux
    Toulouse 1-1 Strasbourg
    Lens 2-2 Valenciennes
    Nice 0-1 Rennes
    Marseille 2-1 Nancy

Here are my picks on the Sunday games.

    Lens 3-0 Valenciennes
    Nice 2-1 Rennes
    Marseille 2-0 Nancy

Also, I'll volunteer to do all the scoring if you all want. I think I am a decent choice since I'm pretty neutral, and I think I have good attention to detail. Although obviously I'm happy if anyone else wants to do the job as well.
