    Here are my picks.

    Toulouse 0-2 Lyon (Toulalan, Squillaci)
    Nancy 1 (Kim)-0 Caen
    Lorient 0-2 Monaco (Ménez, Kallon)
    Nice 1 (Koné)-0 Strasbourg
    Sochaux 0-0 Le Mans
    Auxerre 1 (Kahlenberg)-1 Bordeaux (Micoud)
    Marseille 2 (Zenden, Cheyrou)-0 Rennes
    Saint-Etienne 3 (Ilan 2, Payet)-1 Valenciennes (Doumeng)

I'll do the Sunday games tomorrow, if that's OK. I want to see how I do with these. This was actually a lot of fun, though it was kinda tough picking scorers, given how strong teams are in goalkeeping, central defense, and defensive midfield!

You guys don't have to put who scored the goals.

After being appointed just two games before the end of last season and managing to save Paris Saint Germain's place in Ligue 1, Carefree 95 has been given the nod to continue his impressive work into the 07/08 season. When asked about his appointment for the upcoming season, Carefree 95 said "Obviously it was a tough campaign last year, being in the relegation zone until the last day, however I believe with our hard work in pre-season a top 5 finish is not out of our grasps and I believe I'm the right man to deliver it." On the appointment the chairman stated "Although he kept us up last season, we really didn't want to give him the job but he kept hanging around the training ground, so when the judge didn't grant the restraining order we had no choice."

    Toulouse 1-2 Lyon
    Nancy 2-1 Caen
    Lorient 1-2 Monaco
    Nice 1-1 Strasbourg
    Sochaux 2-0 Le Mans
    Auxerre 1-1 Bordeaux
    Marseille 3-0 Rennes
    St-Étienne 2-1 Valenciennes
    Metz 0-2 Lille
    Lens 0-1 PSG

I know, though it's fun. :) Especially considering how wrong we often are. After all, in L1, goals don't come around that often.

Here are my picks for the Sunday games.

Metz 0-2 Lille (Michel Bastos, Makoun)
    Lens 0-0 PSG

So if I understand the whole system correctly, I have 6 points thus far, as I have 3 correct outcomes (ASNL, OGCN, ASSE), as well as 3 correct scorelines on those games?

As a side note, does anyone else think this season has gotten off to a "huh, what's going on?" start, with the title favorites having issues and the dark horses (Bordeaux, Nancy and Le Mans) being on top? I know, it's only been 2 games, but who would have thought?

Think of it more as having scored 6 goals in this week's match, but you seem to have got the idea

    its a conspiracy

I'll volunteer if you want, I'm in a good mood as I scored 9 goals this week. :)

Though congrats to all, I am certain everyone competing did well.

Thanks but I've already started calculating and I need something to take my mind off that god awful PSG performance.

Feel free to do it next week though.

Hey, a draw against Lens on the road is nothing to scoff at. I heard Digard had a good game. :)

Yeah it was a shame about the rest of the team though

And an away draw against that Lens team is very disappointing!

Week 3 is already coming up on Wednesday. I'm not sure how this kind of week was done last year - there are 2 games that are being rescheduled b/c of European matches (Lyon v Lens, set for 9/29, and Caen v Toulouse, not set yet). I guess we just pick all of the matches anyway?

    Week 3
    8/15/2007
    Valenciennes 1:1 Marseille
    PSG 1:0 Lorient
    Bordeaux 2:0 Le Mans
    Strasbourg 0:1 Auxerre
    Lille 3:1 Sochaux
    Rennes 2:2 Saint-Étienne
    Monaco 1:0 Metz

    8/16/2007
    Nancy 2:1 Nice

    9/29/2007
    Lyon 1:1 Lens

    Yet to be Scheduled
    Caen 0:0 Toulouse

I don't know how it was done before, but it'd make a lot more sense, I think, to go pick only the 8 games, since we do want to do standings after this, don't we? Also, I'm going into this with the essence that the skill in getting the games right has a lot to do with form, injuries, morale, etc. of the teams in question. That's what I'm doing, in any case. So it'd be overwhelmingly difficult to think what those will be down the road. That's my opinion, anyway.

We would pick all the games and then adjust the standings retroactively once the games were all played....i think.

    Valenciennes 1-1 Marseille
    PSG 2-1 Lorient
    Bordeaux 2-0 Le Mans
    Strasbourg 1-1 Auxerre
    Lille 3-1 Sochaux
    Rennes 1-0 Saint-Étienne
    Monaco 2-0 Metz

    Nancy 1-0 Nice

    Lyon 3-1 Lens

    Caen 0-1 Toulouse

I think we postponed the predictions for the matches that were postponed.

    3ème Journée
    Valenciennes 0-1 Marseille
    Bordeaux 1-0 Le Mans
    Lille 1-0 Sochaux
    Monaco 1-0 Metz
    Paris SG 1-0 Lorient
    Strasbourg 0-1 Auxerre
    Rennes 1-1 Saint Etienne
    Nancy 1-0 Nice

EDIT: I forgot to add that we should probably use a third party to total the score predictions. That way a non-bias party is doing it. Also everyone should always double-check to ensure that they aren't missing any points after the results are tallied.

Alright mate calm down!! I just made a mistake, I wasn't trying to cheat you out of points or anything. You could have just PMed me about the result and I would have changed it for you, no need to get so upset.

I did volunteer to do it after all and it was the first time I'd done it too.

Feel free to do the results yourself in future and then you can check them as many times as you want.
