Didnt realize they opening a Championship area..... well done...

hopefully the posters from my other thread in 'lower divisions' will find their way over here....

We have got a middle of the pack team this year, maybe a bit better than middle... lost some key players (scott sinclair, tony capalidi) but replaced them with some good signings.... but we do have a quality manager that can manage the team AND the press....

Another pre-season victory tonight against Paulton Rovers 4-0, scoring for Argyle Chadwick (2), Dickson and trialist Paul McVeigh, a ex N. Ireland international who last year played for Norwich and Burnley. 2 other trialists played tonight Tony Callio a Finish defender who last year played for BSC Young Boys a Swiss team, and also Nadjim Abdou a French player currently with Sedan.
This game tonight was part of the deal in which Argyle agreed to when they signed youngster Ashley Barnes from Paulton.
Tomorrow (wednesday) Argyle go into Cornwall to play Truro. Truro are the biggest club in Cornwall and this past May won the FA Vase trophy at Wembley in front of over 27000 fans. Truro had a remarkable season they played about 55 games in all competitions and scored an amazing 216 goals and conceded 33.
On saturday Argyle play there only home pre-season game against Bristol Rovers.

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 7 Bristol rovers 3, yes Argyle scored 7 goals today they were leading 5-1 at HT, scoring for Argyle were Fallon (2), McVeigh (2), Halmosi, Norris and Buszacky. Supposedly at least 4 of the goals were wonder goals shots from 25-35 yds.
Argyle made their usual massive changes in the second half, basically playing 2 teams each half as they have done in nearly all their pre-season games, probably the lineup in the first half will be the starting lineup, with maybe 1/2 changes.
1 more pre-season game on monday against St. Blazey and a intersquad game on tuesday and then all set for opening game next saturday away to Hull.
There maybe afew comngs and goings before next saturday, maybe a few players going out on loan, maybe some loans coming in (maybe Sinclair).

The official end to the pre-season games came tonight, when a team that would probably be considered as a second or third team played St. Blazey, the final score was 10-0 for Argyle. no details on scorers yet.
This result plus Argyle's 7-3 victory against Bristol Rovers and a Argyle youth victory over the Latvian National to thetune of 6-1, means Argyle teams have scored 23 goals in the past 3 days.

thats a lot of goals... but for the first squad.... what was the level of competition??? will this translate into goals and success in the regular season?

so.... what is our pre-season prediction of a successful season?? im shooting for -- challenging for a playoff spot, but im betting we fall short in the last 10 days of the season, finishing 8 or 9th

Argyle played 10 pre-season games, there were only 6 that could be called fulltime professional teams, Torquay, Cambridge, Yeovil, Bristol Rovers and the 2 teams we played in Austria, from Israel and Turkey. Of those 6 we only won 3games against Bristol Rovers, and Cambridge, Yeovil we tied the 2 in Austria and lost to Torquay.
Only the 2 teams we played in Austria could be considered as good or better than Argyle.

    WELCOME BACK PHIL :D

3 goals away from home.... a little concerning that we give up a goal in the 3rd minute... But... 3 points is 3 points... will take them any way we can get them!!!!

SEB with the game winner.... hopefully many more to come from him!

Good win today (especially with the lack of a positive history in this event the past several years). Any news on when the next CC game will be? Or when the draw will be?

1-1 tie at home.... a bit of the green luck it looks like... bad and good... giving up a goal in the 2nd minute.... and then getting a penalty in the 86min... good for SEB that he converted...

still undefeated on the season.. but Ollie cannot like giving up the early goal!!!
