    I like Saito.
Everyone thought his career was over after the 2005 season.
But he revived in the USA and even became one of the best closers in the MLB.

Yesterday Matsui homered in both games; he has hit 8 in his last 16 games.

Does anybody know what happened to Norihiro Nakamura? Did he go back to Japan?

Yes, he went back to Japan. I think he plays for the Chunichi Dragons now.

Poor guy, his "MLB dream" lasted about 2 months, 1 in the minor leagues. He had good credentials when he got to the Dodgers. Is he doing good in Japan currently?

    The Old Lady Hertha,

hu hu hu... so what ya think of my prophetic powers? it's not even october yet.

It'll give me great pleasure to see Hideki Matsui snatch the wildcard from Ichiro's hand. hu hu hu...

Ichiro is no doubt just awsome player. but at the cost of being ridiculed... he doesn't walk all that much. nor is he a power hitter. He probably has a high hitting percentage, because he is impatient--which leads me to believe that it's entirely possible that this guy can morph into a bigger monster. But speculation is just speculations and Hideki can just ram those suckers over the fences...

i find it so strange that i am cheering for the same guy as Windows.

PS it was fun several days ago watching Ichiro make a mistake and throw at 3rd base to catch Hideki rather than doing the prudent thing and passing to the home plate. hu hu hu

So that was all Hideki's doing, huh? Did Hideki make the Mariners lose 9 in a row?
You don't have to be that smart to figure out that the Yankees have a better team than the Mariners. I enjoyed Seattle's run, but I knew they would collapse eventually. If the Yanks weren't sitting 6 back of Boston, maybe it would be a little different, but beating the Mariners to the wild card spot is not that impressive.

    I'm living in Osaka.
So I can hardly watch the games but just follow the trackers when at work.

I remember back when I was little.. used to watch the Yankees just about every day.

Osaka... Hanshin Tigers fan? No wonder you have turned your back on the Yanks!

What years did you follow? I've only been watching baseball regularly recently. just curious. Before the buying spree...

I guess roughly 1990 - 1998/99. Kind of too young to remember really, but I remember Steve Balboni was on the team at first.
I dunno why I liked watching them when they really sucked but thats what made it fun when they eventually won against the Braves.

actually, I think the Tigers turned me off from baseball here. when I was first moving here they got to the Japan series and proceeded to lose by some lopsided scores. Never really got into it after that.
