another game where we give up the first goal. Shut out for the first time this season. 3 games without a win now, 2 straight losses.

I just watched the highlights and it looks like we just couldn't put any mustard on our shots. From the few plays I saw, it seemed like we just kept passing to the keeper. The only hard shot I saw was JJ's at the end of the half. Was this a fatigue thing or was the field just in bad shape leading to lack of being able to plant? What gives?

First time I haven't been able to finish a game in a looooooong time... I would like to have a few words with the schedule maker. I'd like to beat them up, but I'm just exhausted right now...

The field was dry, you could see sand or other stuff come up when guys would plan or kick the ball.

I honestly thought that one early shot by Sealy was in. Other then that though, we didn't really seem to test Onstad much at all.

Highlight of the day was yelling at Waibel before the game started and getting him to clap our way. That guy is class, I would trade for him in a heart beat.

Well, then you should just LOVE the noon start on 4 July! With any luck at all, there won't be a single shady seat in the stadium ;)

I seriously doubt Telefutura is paying enough money to make 4pm starts worth it. And just think, we've got a noon game on July 4th. Man, I hate Arrowhead in the summer. You could see the players start fading in about the 70th minute.

As for the game - our defense was better, but if Brian Mullan wasn't in the running for "Slowest Man in MLS", Houston would have had a couple of excellent chances early on. How many yellows is Garcia on now? I hope that doesn't bite us while Jimmy is at the Copa.

As for the offense....Onalfo needs to figure out something that works when the breakaways aren't there. Marinelli does all kinds of wonderful things with the ball, but he isn't creating many good chances with all that artistry. Is that his fault, or is it his teammates?

The rust is slowly coming off Sealy, but he's not the player he was last season. And I'm still not in the Yura fan club, either.

I hope the FO has found someone else to play up front. If not, I predict pain until EJ gets back.

Agree on all points, it would be interesting to see what MLS is getting from Telefutura.

Completely agree on Marinelli, he's doing great things on the ball, but he's not helping create many chances.

While the rust is coming off and I'm definitely not in the Yura fan club, I think he should start next week against Toronto.

Strikers.... we actually have strikers? Cuss it doesn't look like it. Yura, Sealy, Davey, Pore, whomever they put up top can't finish or doesn't know how to get into position to finish. Freakin crap.

Did I mention it was hot mofo today?

I was thinking the EXACT same thing on the way home yesterday. True to form....

PV and CO should have told Bradley to take a flying leap and refused to let EJ go to South America just like LA did with Landy. I am actually WORRIED about Toronto coming in here this weekend, maybe because they are winless on the road and DC United got bumped off by RSL? Must be high tide somewhere in the world. Hell, Columbus has won two in a row!

Please please PLEASE work on the damn corner kicks in practice this week...

isn't Victorine playin in playmaker spot?
and sealy's movement off the ball is not good at all....difficult to give him balls.
i think u seen in previous games of marinelli when put in 10 position he don't shy away from givin great balls.(videos on youtube)
victorine did well in counterattackin situations (where u just have to throw the long ball past the last defender)....but he ain't no n.10.

Sasha was switched back to right mid and Davy was up top with Scott. Sasha is better on the right side where he can cross some balls into the box. Unfortunately for Carlos, nobody seems to want to make any runs like EJ was doing for him. His nice footwork and good passing is being wasted, and it's easy to tell he is getting frustrated by it.

No, Sasha was playing most of the game on the right side. He had a decent game, but as was pointed out, there was not a whole lot of movement up front and finishing continues to haunt us.

I'm not sure what bug crawled up your rear to make you so sour on Sasha, he has actually been a pretty good aquisition for the Wizards and has more than lived up to expectations, in my opinion. Is he a #10, no....that's why he wear #9. Does he play that role? He has, due to a lack of a true #10.

I agree with you. I think Sasha is a good player for us and can't figure out why some fans don't like him. No, he isn't fast, but he works hard for the full 90. He makes some nice crosses and his goals are usually pretty crucial.

I didnt make the game but watched it last night on my DVR.

Our corners were terrible, we overshot just about every single one of them.

At times we had complete control of the game but when play got near the box we just faded away with either giving it up or basically passing it to Onstad.

We need some depth up top. Sealy is out of form, Yura just isnt doing it, Pore doesnt have what it takes, etc. We need another solid striker to add some depth.

I thought our defense played better than it had lately which was a good sign.

We desperately need 3 points against Toronto. We had two games in hand over NY and lost both those game. We blew a big opportunity to get a lead in the standings this week.

I didnt think it was boring at all. I thought we did a great job of keeping position at times and this may have been the best I have seen us pass in a very long time. We were putting together longs possessions and it was nice to see.

i'd much rather see route 1 if it amounts to something. we'd blow our wad passing the ball around in midfield and then we'd have nothing left inside the box. (yeah, words are our friends);)

It was great to finally meet you and put a face to a name. I had a great time as well, but that had to be the hottest sporting event I've ever attended, Royals, Chiefs, or out of town.

Brutal heat on the side where the Cauldron was. Absolutely brutal.
