Didn't see a Hearts thread, so of course I had to make one. Well after following the SPL for about 3 years now, I've taken the plunge into being a Hearts fan. I respect Celtic & Rangers and the great rivalry that they have. but something about Hearts has kept my attention all this time. Add that to the fact that the 2006 Scottish Cup win was a damn blast to watch, and their you have it. So here's hoping Romanov can stop himself from burning down Tynecastle Stadium in a fit or rage, or threating & running of players.. but here's to a HOPEFULLY great off-season & season.

If you had waited you could have picked between Hearts or Gretna, with both vying for the title of Chelsea of the North.

JAMBOS SWEAR ANGEL IS NOT BOSS
    By Greig Thomas

HEARTS last night denied Kaunas manager Angel Chervenkov is being lined upas their new head coach.

Bulgarian Chervenkov and former Tynecastle interim boss Eduard Malofeev - now in charge at Belarussian outfit Ripo - will attend the Jambos' training camp in Austria later this month.

Vladimir Romanov owns a huge slice of all three clubs but sources at Tynecastle last night swore Chervenkov would not be next in the hotseat.

They insisted Chervenkov and Malofeev would be in Austria only to run the rule over trialists.

Interim head coach Anatoly Korobochka is likely to be in charge for the opening games of next season even though Romanov is searching for a permanent manager.

The players start pre-season training today and will jet out toAustria on Wednesday.

First-team coach Stevie Frail is still in the dark about his future but he said: "I'm not going to demand that I be told anything.

"I'll wait until a decision is made about a new manager. I love doing what I do and I know I'm in a job other people would love to be in.

"Hearts are a great club to be atand there are too many good guys out of the game just now."

Meanwhile, right-back Nerijus Barasa could be heading to Kaunas after an injury-plagued spell with Hearts.

The Lithuanian, who joined on loan in January 2005, will have talks with Romanov's football adviser and former Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas.

Apparently Sunderland have made a £3m bid for Craig Gordon! Hopefully, Mad Vlad will hold out for nearer £5m but I think it would be a good move for all parties involved.

Mindaugas Malinauskas as big Craig's replacement anyone?;)

I doubt very much Craig would think of taking a downward step to Sunderland.

Imagine what it would do to his confidence getting 3 or 4 goals smashed by him every week.

    :(

I'm maroon through and through but wouldn't consider moving to The Stadium of Light as a downward step.

I fear you may be underestimating the power of the Keane!;) With Craig on board I, seriously, think a top 10 spot is achievable and maybe even a Cup semi-final.

No european football for Craig then.

Downward step in my opinion and it wont happen.

Craig will hopefully stay for another season or two before moving onto better than the likes of Sunderland.

Seems happy enough at the moment at his beloved Jambos.

    Getting paid a good wage.

    No hurry to leave.

    3m .........Keanes having a laugh.

    Hearts fuming after friendly loss

    Sun 01 Jul, 10:30 PM

Hearts claimed they were victims of rough tactics and poor refereeing after a 2-1 friendly defeat to Ukrainian side FC Tavriya in Austria.Christos Karipidis netted for Hearts in Seekirchen, near Salzburg, equalising before half-time after Andriy Zborovsky had put Tavriya ahead.

Zborovsky's penalty in the second half secured victory for Tavriya.

Hearts gave a run-out to new signing Michael Stewart in the second half, and a trialist, named by the Tynecastle club as Artiz Martinez, also appeared off the bench during the closing stages.

Hearts assistant manager Stephen Frail complained about the hard tackling from Tavriya after the match, believing they repeatedly went too far, and criticised referee Norbert Schwab for failing to give the appropriate punishment.

Frail said: "I don't think he [Schwab] struggled. I think he was just poor. Some of the tackles were tasty from the Ukrainian side to say the least, then we go and lose a very, very soft penalty and he just can't wait to give it.

"It's disappointing because some of the tackles were really tasty and a couple of them should have been sent off."

Stewart was satisfied with his half-hour appearance, which came within hours of his first training session in his second spell at Hearts, who he has rejoined after two years at Hibernian.

The former Manchester United reserve, 26, told Hearts World: "I'm delighted to get started. It was a bit surreal in terms of having the first day's training and then playing a game at night as well, but it's always good to get started as quickly as possible."

He is relishing playing alongside Laryea Kingston in the Hearts midfield during the coming season.

"Obviously he's a quality player," said Stewart.

"Everyone's seen that from the time he's been at the club so far, and it's always good to play with good players. I'm no different from anyone else, I enjoy it."

It's about time this thread got bumped up to the top! I didn't even know there was a Hearts thread before now.

    No discussion for six weeks?

I'm a new member of the Jambo family, but Maroon through and through. I'm so maroon, that I keep getting stranded on desert islands! (Wait for it...)

I know I'm not the first, but I'm concerned about the ownership. Thanks for the money, and saving us financially and all, but... could you not blow up our club, please?

I'm sure that broaching this subject is about like going to the Galaxy forum and saying, "Hey, did you hear Beckham is coming?" But, I missed most of the discussion. Can anybody give me a quick summary?

    Thanks!
