Yes, bad calls, both sides = bad ref. But this one is a thief! I'm not going to argue, is not even my team. But is clear that Conmebol wants Defensor out of the tournament. Let's wait 'til next week and you'll see.
No, not both sides. Defensor didn't have two CLEAR penalties taken away from them. Defensor always spent a bunch of time wasting clock on throw ins, fouls, goal kicks, etc and the ref only gave 2 minutes of extra time for both halves. Bad officiating is just another obstacle teams are going to have to overcome in order to win the Libertadores...
Compare them with the true GRANDES: Independiente, Penarol, Boca, Sao Paulo... and you'll see what I'm saying. (Maybe Nacional, but remember that I'm manya) Would you consider River a Grande? (I doubt it, even if they won 10 Libertadores)
Gremio and not Pachuca should be in top 8. Copa Libertadores is the top tourney in latin america. Pachuca won the Copa Sud, good thing but it's a 2nd tier tourney vs Copa Lib.
That was posted on May 15, 2007. And everybody got up in arms about it. Dicho y hecho!!! When Boca decided to get serious there was no competition. Shows how much "futbol wisdom" there is in this forum. Bestias...
