Another option would be to get a bus from Maracaibo > Barquisimeto, $7, 5 hours, 328km. If you are interested in this option check the buses thread on this forum and you 'may' be able to see an online timetable.
Even better, pay for a luxury bus that is about $20 and you are going to have to wear a winter jacket, because they think that only people from Russia and Canada are travelling in their buses. The one that I travelled in you could lay back the sit good enough to go to sleep and it had 3 TVs in it.
LOL...That reminds me of when I went to Peru for Copa America. I travelled from Trujillo to Lima in a 'camabus', thinking that there were ACTUALLY beds and I was going to get all tucked in by some hot bus attendant. Then I noticed they call it 'camabus' only because I can recline the seat so far ... mind you, there's a huge difference between the hottie that was on my mind and the Peruano that was leaning his seat so far back I felt I was his dentist! Instead of going directly from Maracaibo to Barquisimeto, I think I might stop by Puerto Colombia. I've been reading up on it and it sounds great! Still need to know though Danilo, for the beginning of my trip: "I was thinking of staying in Catia La Mar overnight and then grabbing a flight to Maracaibo the next morning... "is Catia La Mar a relatively safe area at that time of night?
por ahora solo The US fans are still putting it all together and there are no other groups I know of traveling from the states to Venezuela. Id rather travel with a group of folks then solo... you dont wanna be 'the old man at the club'
Sorry, I don't really know how safe/unsafe is Catia La Mar. Here's information about the "Transbarca" in Barquisimeto: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=455484 I recommend you before going to Barquisimeto, taking a trip to "Morrocoy" that is North-East of Barquisimeto. The place is very beautiful. It is located 470kms from Maracaibo and 230kms from Barquisimeto. Here's a picture gallery that I found http://www.carloscoll.com/morrocoy1.htm BTW, here's one of the latest pictures of the stadium in Barquisimeto It has a lot of work left to do, but it will be cool On the right you can see one of the supports for the roof
Are you talking about night life or walking your luggage from the taxi cab to the hotel, if so lol at you . You will be fine, what you should be worry about is getting to the game on time.
Well, we're in the "segunda quincena de este mes" right now. Anyone have any updates on how to purchase the tickets?
I think we have to wait a bit. There are serious concerns about the progress in the stadia. The last Conmebol inspection scheduled for April 22nd has been moved to May 7th. It might be that they have to drop few stadiums from the plan and rethink the schedule. I don´t believe we are going to see any tickets sales until that inspection is done.
link? The stadiums have been pretty much confirmed by Conmebol. I mean, they've already programmed the games in the venues.
I´m myself the link...... Seriously now. Sorry, but I can not give out more info. Surely it will be public in a matter of days. Journalists are not stupid. Yes, there is a schedule. But that schedule is subject to the final inspection. If everything goes according to plan there should be no alterations. In that case the tickets would have gone on sale after April 22nd or "la segunda quincena del mes". But putting the inspection back is not a good sign. It might be that cities such as Caracas get more games. I don´t think we are going to see any changes in terms of dates and times. But a couple of cities might drop from the plan. Remember we are talking here about Venezuela. Not the EURO 2008 in Austria/Switzerland. Soon we will know I´m sure.
List of countries by GDP from September 2006: By the IMF in millions of dollars: 19.- Switzerland (367,571) 23.- Austria (305,338) 37.- Venezuela (132,848) Venezuela is not as half as rich as the poorest of these two countries alone.
If you administer it correctly, that is. Because Angola and Nigeria have oil, yet in terms of GDP (for example), they're not even close to the top. Libya also has oil, too. Metro
Well I went to the website, and I called the number but a major credit card was needed. So... we can't purchase the tickets on the internet yet? Has anyone ACTUALLY purchased tickets yet?!? I'm afraid I'm gonna miss out!
