I just want to bump this up:

You can subscribe to our google email group at the following address, http://groups-beta.google.com/group/Union103/

There is a discussion about the song sheet, the tailgate, merchandise, etc. Check it out! Also, the full version of crewunion.com is almost ready. I saw a preview and let me just say I think it looks pretty sweet!

where did the Hooligans come from? are these V-army people that did not want to go over to 103? 103 looked really good from what I could see sounded a lot louder too....

That's what it sounds like. Turns out that security was giving them a hard time, too. I like having the multiple groups in different parts of the stadium. I wonder if it'll keep up....

The good stuff was great. There were a few call and responses going, and other than the groups being slightly off for a chant or two, it was good stuff.

Moving to 103 will ultimately be very beneficial and Zak had a good idea. Hopefully a lot of people in the 104-106 area will join in as the season progresses.

At times I wondered if 137 were a bit hesitant due to 103 having more sound and unified consistency in their songs/chants. Some of 137 chants were great ideas, but needed a bit more umpf and unity. But in the second half yes, things were a bit more together with the various groups. Things on the field may attribute to how well the groups do this season IMHO.

I think that this is very much a possibility, as I saw people in 104 and 102 jumping up and down and singing along with us during the final ten minutes or so.

Before the opening whistle, I made an effort to not only distribute the newsletter to folks in 103, but to folks in 102 and 104. It only makes sense to get our neighbors involved if possible. If they have a sheet with some songs & chants on it, they might be more comfortable joining in. It certainly can't hurt.

I thought it was nice when the two groups were able to do the same chants together. What would be very cool is if 137 & 103 would each have one part to "When Crew Comes Marching In" so that one section would call only and the other section would respond only. That would be bad ass.

I was actually surprised that there was a strong turn out in both sections, and it seems like I don't remember that many people being together in one section alone, so there must be some new numbers in the ranks.

I met some new people yesterday at the tailgate and in the stands, first-timers to the supporters group or to a Crew game and I'm glad they were able to make it out in the nasty weather and hope they enjoyed themselves.

The yellow smoke bomb probably contributed to that.

I thought everyone was against the multiple groups, which is why we (fort knox) didn't bring our banner? We were however still chanting and yelling along with everyone else.

That might be part of the reason. After a few minutes, I could smell it's stink in 103 and was glad I wasn't closer.

Crewdust: no, I'm not disputing that it wasn't cool. I like stuff like that. I think if the supporters groups could build a little trust with the staff/office that we're not going to throw it on the field, that they might turn a blind eye for a few minutes once in a while for something like that... and then come down and just give a tongue wagging for being inappropriate.

GD: I don't think we want to have a lot of fragmented groups. While it still worked out last night, maybe we'll have to wait and see how things progress through the season. Maybe there will be two distinctively different types of groups for different sorts of fans. Now, you guys in the corner can choose your own destiny, but my preference is still to fill up 103 as best we can and then see what happens. If people stay in 137 and are a fair size as well, then I hope organized chants will come out between the two groups.

yes I second that, loving the checkered flag...you all also sounded louder than last year...it's probably because the sound is coming at us rather than away :) I is smart...

I've got a bunch of white, gold, and black nylon to make flags out of, so if anyone knows of someone who can sew at a discount, please let me know.
