Reyna has booked his ticket to Chucktown and now maybe Rivaldo and Beasley? http://cgi.cnnsi.com/2007/scorecard/01/30/truth.rumors.soccer/index.html
Heads up for anyone traveling to Charleston On Saturday, March 31, there's a 10K run/walk, the Cooper River Bridge Run, that attracts about 45,000 participants. Hotel rooms will be booked solid 100 miles out from Charleston on Friday night, (3/30). Most people leave town after the race but Saturday night might also be a little tough finding a room. So, book your room early.
.... and if you're a NJ redbull fan, get a hotel on the Charleston side of the Cooper River Bridge I am a bit disappointed the CCC isn't listed in the upcoming events on the Daniel Island website *still bummed my team is shunning this tournament in '07*
funny, it seems that would put me on the wrong side of the bridge... good thing I booked early at the Hampton I guess (why would you want to shun a cute girl?) EDIT: oh, you were the guy hit by the beer : )
About how many Metro fans are planning on coming down so far? I'm thinking of maybe going down to see one of the weekend doubleheaders. Wouldn't mind sitting with other RBNY fans.
I'm not sure if I can still go or not now! I have to change jobs by the end of this month, so it depends on that It doesn't look promising, but I have some tickets I might be able to sell you
Look for a big piece in the first ESC Fanzine coming out in a week or so on the potential road trip to charleston. We are going to try and get a feel for how many like minded fans there are and put them all into contact with each other to sort out logistics. I am going to try and get a bunch of info on the Cup and since i used to live in Charleston i can provided some info as far as what to do in the city for those going. ( i myself may go as well). BTW: Mikey Mouse check your PM's.
if you have hotel reservation they wil be worth gold that last weekend of March with the Bridge Run in town. This is one of the largest 10K runs in the world and usually attracts over 30,000 runners. Hotels will be tight. Mikey
I hope you can make it down. should be a good week and if you've never been to Charlesotn you'll find pleanty to do and see.
Will these games be broadcast down there on TV or radio? And if they are, will the signals be webcast at all? I'd be interested in listening, particularly to the TFC matches.
If any of you remember Malcolm, the 'Quakes old Kit man, he's with Toronto now, so I'm sure he'll be up for a few beers with y'all!
Just a few more days left til kickoff! Look forward to seeing some lie soccer and partaking in some pre and post match festivities! Mikey
well, that's why they invited New Jersey Have fun guys, and say hi to the Mobius guy and his cool dog for Lisa and I UP THE BATTERY !!!!
I would love to see the Challenge Cup but I don't know if I can make it. However, Mikey, I will be down there again this summer. I'm trying to plan my trip to see a couple games as well as some golf at MB. I'm glad Lazo signed again with the Battery and Armstrong is playing great with the Storm. I wouldn't mind partaking in some of those post game activities you were telling me about when I was there last summer.
A word to the wise, we played at the stadium last night, be prepared for the Daniel Island Pollen Festival and Gnat Slap.
not hard at all maybe 100 yards from the tailgate area. near the west stand entrance. we'll make sure you get it beofre the alcohol starts flowing too freely!! mikey
