For those interested/knowledgeable about Welsh football, I wanted to find out whether the New England Revolution midfielder Andy Dorman from Flintshire had a realistic shot to play for the Welsh nat'l team. He has indicated that is a major goal of his and he is 26-27 at this point. Does anyone know if he's even in the national team conversation?
    Cheers

He's only 24... he still has some room to grow and improve... I'd be surprised if he never gets called up, though I doubt the coaches have much time to scout him. With such a wealth of Welsh players playing in the U.K., it's a decent time out to cross the atlantic to check out one player.

    We'll see.

Considering he was born in England and has no Welsh parents, grandparents etc. he would have a hard job playing for a country he isn't qualified to play for.

Unless he changes his name to Tony Cascarino.

Apparently he's played for the Welsh U18 team so there must be some connection there, either that of he and the Welsh FA have broken the agreement between the FAs of the home nations.

Same deal as Giggs playing for England schoolboys. Dorman played for the schoolboy under 18s.

Ahhhh so that's it. I was wondering if they meant schoolboys rather than the actually Welsh U18 team. He's a Chester lad born and bred isn't he? He then went to live in Wales? Just like a certain England international ;)

    I say cap him ;)

Just seen his interview on youtube and he explains it all. He seems a bit disappointed by the fact that he's entirely English and not eligible for Wales.... git ;)
