about FC Bayern Munich

FC Bayern Munich (German: Fußball-Club Bayern München) is a German sports club based in Munich, Bavaria. It is best known for its professional football team, which is the most successful club in German football, having won 21 German titles and 14 cups.
The club was founded in 1900 by eleven football players led by Franz John. Although Bayern won its first national championship in 1932, the club was not selected for the Bundesliga at its inception in 1963. In the middle of the 1970s, the club had its period of greatest success, when the famous team led by Franz Beckenbauer won the European Cup three times in a row (1974–76). In recent years they have been by far the most successful team in German football, winning seven of the last ten championships. The club's last international title was the Intercontinental Cup in 2001.

This is going to be fun , im not underestimating the opponent but if Barca plays in their top form like they did most of the season Bayern is in trouble.

Visca el Barça!

Mods, what do you think about 'Stickieing' the match threads so they are more visible and easier to find? Until the next match thread is up or something, just an idea I came across while browsing other forums!

It would surprise me if Barca won't win that game. I guess Bayern needs a very, very, very good form that day and the Spanish team a very bad form, if the Germans will take something away from Nou Camp. Bayern has not played against big team since Milan trashed them in 2007.

It reminds me a bit of the German national team during EC 2008, playing decent sides like Portugal and Turkey and then being blown away from Spain...

BTW:

How many Barcelona players are from the current Euro championship on board ?

Bayern players to watch out:
Ribery, Zé

Bayern players to wonder WTF are they doing:

Lell, Schweinsteiger, Rensing, Bommel, Borowski, Podolski

Xavi was the MOP of the tournament but Iniesta and Puyol also started nearly all matches. Recently three more of our younger players have made the Spain squad (Krkic, Pique and Busquets) but neither played in Euro 2008.

Nine Spanish players were picked for the UEFA Euro 2008 Team of the Tournament, goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas [REAL MADRID], defenders Carles Puyol [FCB], Carlos Marchena [VALENCIA], midfielders Xavi [FCB], Cesc Fabregas [FCB YOUTH SQUAD, NOW ARSENAL], Andrés Iniesta [FCB], Marcos Senna [VILLAREAL] and strikers David Villa [VALENCIA] and Fernando Torres [LIVERPOOL].

So is Klose going to miss both legs? If so will Podolski see any minutes?
