Default Play Up Pompey [R]

OK I don't know what happened but we had a few people posting regularly here and then we all just stopped (myself included). So this is my attempt to breathe some new life into the Pompey forum . Saw the match on Sunday. Quite impressed with Hislop and Hughes who seems eager to prove to 'Arry that he deserves regular playing time. Nevertheless i'm much more keen to stay in the Premiership than win the FA cup and we're currently only one spot above the drop zone and thats only due to goal differential. Seriously if this side was healthy we'd easily be 8 or 9. Anyway I don't have much else to post as I just wanted to get the conversation going again. All you Pompey boys and girls join in.

Default Pompey Play Up

Hello Mate,
Not been on here before, saw the Pompey thread so thought I'd join in.
Agree about the injuries - its been tough this season hasnt it. We've had some good results though recently so heres hoping we can get a good run going and pull away from the bottom.
We'd better not go down - getting used to all these TV games now we're in the prem!. Looking forward to the gooners in the cup on saturday.
We'll probably get stuffed but at least we got further than scummers.
Be interested to hear from any other Pompey - especially any in NY/NJ/Philly area.
Play Up Pompey.

I think 5-1 tells the story, in the end. But seeing the gunners up 5-0 inside an hour, I have to say that flattered. I think Hislop was below par. He seemed slow to get anywhere he was going. Those two in the second half seemed rather soft. You'll struggle to stay up if this becomes a regularity.

You'll be glad to have Stone back, I imagine. He'll help keep you up.

Yeah, it was all over a bit early wasnt it.
We knew our only chance was to catch you on a bad day and play out of our skins.
Very quickly obvious that wasnt gonna happen.
What about the noise from the pompey fans though eh. Most fans at 5-0 down would be streaming out. Not us. Even Henry made a point of saying he'd never seen anything like it. Top sportsman Henry IMO.
Other pluses for us were Teddy scoring and of course we can now focus on the league!.
Looking like a Man U/ Arsenal final isnt it - I reckon the TV companies fixed it!

Caught the game on TV and just wanted to comment on the Pompey fans...I've never heard singing so loudly or fans cheering so much when their team is down so far. I don't know if Portsmouth will stay up or not...but those fans flat out deserve it.

It's looking less and less likely. And I know for all my talk of bringing this board back to life i'm not posting at all. Never seems to be enough time. :\
