He probably just wants to go home and keep fit, he could have probably found home in a USL-2 side but seems this was more a personal decision than a professional one.

Yeah, Flood could easily get a gig in a USL pro division if he wanted it.

    Ex-Rev search: (non-MLS)

    Kyle Brown (Austin Aztex, USL-1)
    Ian Fuller (Charleston Battery, USL-1)
Arsene Oka (Cleveland City Stars, USL-1)
    Felix Brillant (Montreal Impact, USL-1)
    Willie Sims (Suchitepéquez, Guatemala)
    Michael Parkhurst (Nordsjaelland, Denmark)
    Andy Dorman (St. Mirren, SPL)
    Clint Dempsey (Fulham, EPL)
Jose Cancela (Fenix, Uruguayan 2nd division)
    Chris Loftus (Bunkeflo, Sweden, maybe)
Sam Brill (somewhere in the bowels of the German pyramid, maybe)
Danny Wynn (St. Louis Illusion, indoor soccer)
Miguel Gonzalez (might be playing for Atlante's 2nd division affiliate)
    Tony Lochhead (Wellington Phoenix, A-League)
    Adin Brown (Aalesunds, Norway)
Pato Aguilera (Univeristario de Deportes, Peru)
    Richie Baker (Shelbourne, Ireland)
    Cassio (Adelaide United, A-League)
    Daniel Hernandez (Jaguares, Mexico)
    Paul Keegan (Dumbarton, Scotland)
    Ricardo Phillips (San Francisco, Panama)

Couldn't track down guys like Avery John or Connally Edozien, who were with Miami FC last year.

I believe this was missed elsewhere, but RBNY traded allocation money for a 10th international spot from Houston.

There's still some rumors that 26 year old fullback Alfredo Pacheco of El Sal and 24 year old Tico Carlos Johnson (Bryne FC in Norway) are going to sign with RBNY.

If we ever do get those Ghanians, we'll be needing at least one more international spot, too....

    Conway "addresses" drug suspension

The unfortunate incidents that occurred last year is something that's in the past," Conway said. "I've decided to move on with my life and my career and leave the entire matter where it belongs, in the past. The league's dealt with it. I've had to deal with it, and I see no purpose in revisiting it.

Oh we'll revisit it Jonny boy....

Who was working on that banner for the 28th??:p

    performance enhancing???

clearly it's didn't work all that much

although playing for RB, I could understand needing to use recreational drugs (like crack)

Wish I can say I've come across something similar in Ghana regarding our prospects.

Those are some strong lineups. It would be interesting to bundle those 36 players as an EPL or other top European league side and see just how they would do over a full season. They wouldn't be top of the table but they wouldn't be easy to religate either.

Turned on my Xbox 360 today and immediately to the right was a tab saying "Celebrate Soccer: Kick off the MLS season with Xbox LIVE" and upon clicking it had two major ads for Seattle FC and the game on ESPN2 as well as advertising some FIFA 09, PES 09, and Sensible World of Soccer add-ons. This is how you advertise, Seattle!

agree. What does bum me out a little is how many of that 1st team are foreign. 2nd team a bit also. I often wonder what the point is where too much foreign talent in the league stops helping to elevate the level and play and starts to hurt the development of american talent

I think it's unfair to put Fredy Montero up there when we haven't seen him in a single MLS game. Yes he's had a good pre-season, but that means nothing. Kasey Keller could make the Best XI, but that's another thing that's yet to be seen and Ives has put two people in the first team based solely on pre-season form. Rolfe over Kljestan is another baffling move. In all honesty, Ives is great at reporting news and finding obscure tidbits, but (in my opinion at least) he's always been terrible in his opinionated pieces.

Carey sounds off on Seattle, Galaxy and opening game

Drew Carey has his own idea about what makes up an expansion team. And the comedian and co-owner of the Seattle Sounders said his team doesn't fit that description.

"I think the expansion team this year actually is the Galaxy and not us," Carey told reporters at MLS headquarters in Manhattan Monday morning. "I said that to all my Riot Squad friends. You're the ones scrambling to put a team together, didn't know who was playing for you day-to-day...They're coming from a big mess, they're the expansion team."

I really like Drew...It's gonna be hard to root against him...and his team when you see how they're running this thing...

    Kamara Suspended

Houston Dynamo forward Kei Kamara has been suspended two league matches and fined $500 by MLS Commissioner Don Garber for an incident at the Feb. 15 friendly against San Jose. After an investigation, the league ruled that Kamara made inappropriate comments to an official. He will miss Saturday's opener against visiting Columbus and the March 28 home opener against the Earthquakes.

What do you think Kamara said to get suspended for two matches???

"If you had another eye, you'd be a cyclops"

I saw a kid get a yellow in a high school game once. A dog ran on to the field and they had to stop the game to get him off. Someone yelled "Whose dog is this?" and one of the players responded without missing a beat, "It's the referee's seeing-eye-dog!" He got some laughs from players on both teams, but unfortunately for him, the referee (and his own coach) was less amused!
