    Hello.

    It’s contest time again!

This year’s Prize will be a new with tags 2000 Chicago Fire Official Replica Home short-sleeved shirt in size XL, autographed by Justin Evans, Tenywa Bonseu, Dema Kovalenko, Josh Wolff, Carlos Bocanegra and DaMarcus Beasley.

The rules will be mostly the same as last year’s with a minor tweak or two.

Each Contestant will be allowed to pick six combine invitees whom they think will be on the Minnesota Thunder's opening day roster. Contestants can also pick up to four alternates (in order of preference) to be counted only if members of their first six picks do not attend the combine. The Contestant who picks the most Thunder signees will win the jersey.

    The following are the tiebreakers:

If two or more contestants correctly pick the same amount of signees, the signee who first plays in a regular season game will determine the winner.

If two or more contestants pick two different signees who both begin play at the same game at the same time, the contest continues until one of the signees falls behind the other in playing time.

If two or more contestants pick the same signee or signees, a drawing will determine the winner.

If no one picks a Thunder combine signee who is on the opening day roster, the contest will continue until whichever picked invitee is signed first by the Thunder some time during the season.

If a picked invitee is not signed by the Thunder by the last regular season home game of the season, the next tiebreaker will be combine participants who sign with another USL Division One team or MLS team by the last Thunder home game of the regular season.

If two or more contestants pick an equal amount of USL Division One and MLS signees, the signee who plays in the regular season first will determine the winner.

Any ties at this point will be decided by a drawing held at the last Thunder regular season home game.

If no one picks a combine participant who is signed by the Thunder, another USL Division One team or MLS team, no jersey will be awarded.

There is no cost to enter the contest. It is open to anyone who is not an employee or volunteer working for the Minnesota Thunder or any combine invitees. Entries must be posted at this thread or it's companion at BigSoccer.com before 1PM Eastern, 12PM Central, 11AM Mountain, 10AM Pacific time on Tuesday, February 17th. One entry per person. Arrangements can be made for the winner to pick up the jersey locally. If the winner cannot pick up the jersey locally (Minneapolis/St. Paul or Milwaukee area), there will be a five dollar domestic shipping charge to the winner(foreign shipping charge to be determined), payable upon receipt of the jersey.

The decision of the current owner of the jersey (me :D ) as to who is awarded the jersey is final. Any questions as to the rules should be posted here or at the sister thread at usldiscussions.com.com.

This contest is not affiliated in any way with the Minnesota Thunder.

Info on the player pool will be posted here:

    And here:

Pretty much the same rules as last year, when a jersey was awarded, for the second time in the contest’s history, to Leprechan (or LeperKhan as he’s known at BigSoccer).

Waiting for those entries to come rollin’ in, I remain

    Hello, Dave

Thanks for the entry. Got bad news and good news for ya.

The bad news is that your first four picks have cancelled.

The good news is that since the deadline for entry isn't until mid-day Tuesday, you can replace those players with four more, plus select four more aternates, as the rules allow.

Make sure you check the latest update on the Combine report. There are some HOT prospects there. And I'll have the most current list of expected attendees and cancellations posted on this thread by sometime tomorrow.

There ya go. Direct from Trina Kramer, Combine Co-ordinator, who has been wonderful, as usual, in getting me the info I need.

Well, there you are. Remember to check the Combine reports posted already. The links for those are in the first post in this thread. Some of the late additions are HOT!

The deadline is midday Tuesday. Pick six players and four alternates. Post them here, and the free jersey could be yours.

Hm, given the changes, can I re-up? Here is a new top 6:

    Aaron Chandler
    Marty Johnston
    Andrew Konopelsky
    Kevin Noschang
    Steven Morris
    Tanner Wolfe

    And new alternates:

    Ben Metcalfe
    Jimmy Nummy
    William Weaver

If it's too late, no worries. This game's still well worth the ticket price!

    ;)
