Default Anybody know about Xeres?

Jozy Altidore, an American Striker who's just 19, was loaned to Xeres from Villareal for the rest of the season. Anyone know how Xeres play and what Jozy's chances for playing time will be? How many players he has to beat out, style of play they have?

Thanks in Advance!

I'll try to help but I don't know if its fully accurate as I rally only watch highlights based on what I see on youtube and some reports on AS.

Xerez have 2 main forwards, Antoņito-2nd fwd and Bermejo as the main CF. Both have la Liga experience, so I think they would be 1st choice. Who would you trust to get you promotion? These 2 or someone who hasn't really played tht much in Spain? Maybe when they are injured does Jozy come in

I think they play a 4-2-3-1 formation with Momo and Pedro Rios out on the wings. Viqueira in the centre creating and the 2 forwards ahead.

Momo, IMO, is the best player in the division and Antoņito also looks a very good player. These 2 make the team spark and so you would say Xerez are a typical Andalucian side- charming and tempermental that helps characterise their football on the pitch.

Well, hind sight is letting us know that a kid that scores 4 international, wc qualifying goals in two games is not worthy of even dressing with Xeres.

I am hoping the deal is revolked or Jozy is traded from Villareal ASAP.

It's a tough situation. At the time of the start of the loan, Xerez was in first place. I'm not sure how you incorporate an unproven loaned player into the lineup. You don't want to break up chemistry and basically have a chance at ruin what wasn't broken. To me the loan was a bad deal and the people at fault are the managers who made the loan deal.

Will scoring 4 international goals serve notice for the Xerez coaches? Perhaps but don't hold your breath. Really it would serve the best interests of all if the loan was rescinded and Altidore went back to Villarreal, at the very least he was getting a few minutes now and then.

Fabian Orellana is currently on loan at Xerez from Udinese. The coach hasn't played him yet because he feels that he doesn't have the sufficient 'weight'...

in two starts for the NT he scored against argentina, and then yesterday scored one and set one up against colombia. but i'm sure the coach knows exactly what he's talking about
