Hi everyone, Thank you for letting me post here. I ran an article on your visit to Seattle on May 30th. I hope it is ok to post about it here. It's about all the interesting factors that make this a huge game and contains some exclusive reaction from CC to your schedule. http://www.prostamerika.com/MLS.html#CREWREACT Thanks and hope to see some of you on May 30.
Its hilarious that Seattle really want us as some mortal enemy. How do you get the title "Crew look forward to battle in seattle" when its more like "Seattle look forward to crew game". Robert or any of the Crew players have not said anything about Seattle or a desire to battle them, etc. You're talking about one comment from Bliss on our general schedule. On top of that the comment is all about how the game will have fans in the seats not anything to do with Sigi or Evans. Stop making crap up.
It was merely a play on the film title, nothing more. Certainly not intended to suggest a rivalry of any sort, except insofar as we want to measure ourselves against the best. You'll notice the thread title here does not appear in the article. Think you read a little too much into the thread title on a forum. Perhaps had I said "a battle in Seattle" you may have had a point. But I didn't say that.
Crew look forward to raising title banner Crew look forward to defending title Crew look forward to Champions League Crew look forward to making playoffs, MLS Cup Crew look forward to playing expansion franchise who has yet to take the field.... yeah that sounds about right.
The whole Sigi thing is sooo played out. It even annoyed me that the Dispatch ran an article about Sigi coming back way in October (not even worth re-posting). Sigi is gone, I don't think none of us give a crap about Sigi coming back anymore. It's another home game, another win, business as usual.
I have been watching this on Netflix. That guy is totally a girl or something. "little one" Jeff Bradley is highly anticipating our "show-down." He's such a ****** tool.
Oh Come on, admit it, You hate us. You are looking forward to kicking our ass and putting us in our place. I can see and feel the vitrol in all your posts here and on other threads. The way I see it is we are in a no lose situation. If we win, then we get a nice lauph at beating "The Massive" 2008 MLS Champion Columbus Crew. If you win, you will only have beaten the lame, upstart, expansion Seattle Sounders. Which you are expected to do anyway.
Let me try and spell this out for you: We hate DC United. they kept us from winning the Cup three times in the 90's. We have a long history with them, their fans and their team. We hate Chicago. They're a bunch of assholes. It goes back to 1998. We really don't give a shit about Seattle. Not even a little one. Oh, we are anjoying laughing at your stupidity, but so is everyone else. I know you guys are all hopped up about some kind of rivalry or something because of Sigi, but the bottom line is that he's nothing but an ex-coach. We wish him the best, particularly when he takes over the USMNT when Bradley screws it up. I'm really sorry, I know it hurts your feelings, but Seattle FC is quite literally nothing to us. Nothing at all.
Bill is right. Columbus are not Seattle's "rivals". What they are is the best in the business and the bench for all other sides to try and emulate. Seattle won't really have any rivals till Vancouver get here.
It takes a lot more than comments on a message board from people that I have never seen or met to hurt my feelings. Mr. Archer. I recall that you have taken few shots at Seattle. If you don't care, why waste the key strokes responding to my post? You tryin' to set me straight mate? The only real rivals that we have are either Portland or Vancouver. Given the fact that we are a first year team, it would be nice to beat the champs. Heck it will be nice to beat anyone. If we don't I won't shed any tears. I have realistic expectations. Enjoy the season, I would say see ya in Seattle but I know that most of you could give a toss about us and will not travel here to see a match unless it is for the 2009 MLS Cup which we may end up hosting (probably not playing in).
How can you be a rival with someone 70,000 miles away? Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it American EPL fans.
