Question Running shoes?

im assuming this will be a valid thread considering its in the training section ( i am sorry ahead of time if not)

Anyways onto the question,
Running shoes, I did some research but have no idea what shoe would be good for me. I know the logical answer would be to try them on in a shoe store, however no matter the comfort, the shoes still tend to hurt me (usually knee) considering I have osgood shlatter disease, so I guess the point of this thread is to say what shoes work for you, why, and how to diagnose which shoe is best for your needs, Any help would be much appreciated thanks

the best i advice i got for running shoes, was "Go to a running store and pick their brains out!" i got that from one of my friends who does distance running and well i did. I got my feet scanned, sized and tried on many a shoe, but we eventually found one that worked well with my feet and legs.

Agree with bassboi. It's impossible to buy running shoes online IMO.
I was going through the same thing a couple months ago, until I finally went to my local running shop andn tried on just about every pair they had.

Go to a shop 100% find a pair you like, and say your really set on a color well maybe then buy online.

Definitely go to a running shoe store, but if you've got bad knees (I've got one bad knee and two bad ankles), I recommend Asics or Brooks.

Running store does not mean sports store. The guys at "xxx sporting goods" don't know running shoes from goats.

Running store means a store specific for runners. And if you go there, don't back out and buy cheaper online like that ass above said. These stores provide a service nobody else does (and which you apparently need). Don't put 'em out of business.
