Re: Summer Tour 2009 Will United ever come to the States? I will go see then anywhere anytime if they come over here for a couple of games.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 It seems as if Chelsea are trying to take over the states out of the english teams.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 I just do not understand. I followed united for years since I was 8/9. then in 2004 I was so excited to immigrate to America because i knew they would usually come. Then they came a week before I came in philly where I reside right now and since then they never came !
Re: Summer Tour 2009 We'll we havent had them here since the 2000 Pre Season when they beat our full National team and Bosnich played for United.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 I went to the game in Seattle when we beat Celtic 4-0 but they didn't come to the west coast after that.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 Saw them play in Phily and New Yawk in 2003. I in fact saw Ronaldo and Ronaldino's first games for United and Barcelona respectively....Well, I think I did.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 Ronaldo didn't play (or wasn't even signed during the tour, IIRC)... dihno did play for Barca.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 As I mentioned in the "I Don't Know Where To Post This" thread, a few of our guys will be in NYC in June. Tweety is putting together a charity match at Giant's Stadium in June, supposedly vs. the Red Bulls. Right now it looks like CRon and Giggs are signed up.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 The website has Rooney as well....Wish I could go, but I already booked an Oasis ticket in Manchester for June 7 and once I'm over there I'm staying for the month. Should be cool though, didn't know Tweety ever had that kind of pull in the locker room
Re: Summer Tour 2009 Asia is an important market for Manchester United, unfortunately for US based United fans. http://www.manutdexperience.com/en/ The first stand-alone United Experience built was in China. I dont doubt United will go back to the US, it is probably part of their grand master plan for total world dominance. As to when, maybe next year. It seems to have been Asia, Africa, Asia for the last 3. North America may be in with a shout next time. Would love to see a reasonably full strength team go out for the MLS Allstar game as seems to happen with a lot of English clubs at the moment, and wallop them. Stop MLS gloating so much...
Re: Summer Tour 2009 I would love to see the likes of Macheda, Welbeck, James, Tosic, and Possebon, shitting on Donovan and company.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 Not during a World Cup summer... I think we rely too much financially on our presence in Asia for us to skip going there for the foreseeable future....
Re: Summer Tour 2009 Agreed! Until the US can generate scenes like these we'll be going to Asia, and rightfully so. Uncle Crippled Puss has to pay off the debt holders.
Re: Summer Tour 2009 Though I would love to see United on American soil, there is too much money to be made in Asia for the club to go anywhere else. Asia appears to be soccer crazy at the moment, and United would be mad to not go there to sell kits and merchandise and spread their brand even further. Can't blame them, they have too much debt and need the money.
