Default Chemical weapons may have been found in Iraq.

By the Danes, working with Iceland. Its blister gas, and it has been buried for over 10 years. Final analysis pending.

We'll see what this is, but if I recall correctly, Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rice, Wolfie et al never mentioned blister gas.

I couldnt tell from the post, but it seems like you might be making excuses already...

this:...... "Blister gas, an illegal weapon which ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) said he had destroyed, was extensively used against the Iranians during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war."

...is key. You can argue about how dangerous it is, etc, but it goes a far in beginning to justify the war.

Of course no pun intended.

okay, but once again a key little note in the article:

Quote:
The Danish army said the rounds had been buried for at least 10 years.
was bush really pointing to weapons buried for 10 years when he said that iraq still had an "active chemical weapons program" and listed it as one of the few reasons to go to war against iraq?

ya know, i bet if we went digging we could find all sorts of old chemical weapons that have been buried for 10 years all over the iraqi desert.

this find means nothing...

Leftovers from the Iran-Iraq war? Hope they didn't find a receipt also.

Having a stockpile, even if buried for 10 years, is still evidence of a chemical weapons program. All they would have to do is to dig up the shells and salvage the contents.

Easier to hide such weapons in a hole in the ground out in the middle of nowhere.

Burying such weapon stockpiles is part of military stratagies.

They found weapons regardless of how old they are.
