hehe hi there ishi, i will i will. Been quite busy lately with the holidays and stuff so no energy to take care of the blogs. Im committed to a norwegian site as well you see, plus im contributing on www.japanesesoccer.net as well. Therefore i've pretty much decided that www.j-leaguefans.com will be killed and buried. But i'll keep the Cerezo one i think
I hope that my hometown team, Tokushima Vortis, can do better next year. I'm betting on Cerezo to win it this year.
Is Minobe still the manager...? If yes, I think you need A LOT of luck. He is a nice guy, but I can't think of a worse coach in Japan, really...
I haven't read any news reports that he's been fired and the official website still lists him as the manager so I guess its safe to safe that he still is unfortunately... I wish that we could have signed Doumbia Seydou, but I would have felt bad for ruining his potential by making him stay at Vortis . Glad to see him in Europe and I'm wondering if we are starting to see a trend with young African and South American players going to Japan and then making the leap to Europe (i.e. Hulk). I think its great because it gives them experience and helps crappy clubs like mine (try to) get some good results.
ah yeah, That's quite handy isn't it? But i'l only copy that application to my Cerezo-blog then so don't worry
I guess Doumbia was a bit too good for J2. Any clue about how he's doing in Grasshoppers now? He got his debut for Ivory Coast NT while playing for Tokushima I remember, and pretty much were a one-man attack. Let's hope TOkushima can avoid the wooden-spoon this season atleast I rate Tokushima higher than Ehime, atleast Tokushima's maximum potential seems alot bigger, but they're not stable enough. The 5-0 win over Ehime in one of the final rounds must have tasted good though.
Doumbia played 14 games with the Young Boys Berne and scored 5 goals (Wikipedia). A good start i think and i'm very happy for him. Doumbia is a great guy and you can see that in the interviews he gave in Japan (of course, it's better when you understand french ) and another recently when he said that play in Japan was a very good experience for him, in term of football and human relation. But also, he have a very good potential for to become a great footballer. I hope the better for him.
I hope Avispa will return to the top clubs this year. Now we have two great forwards with Okubo and Takahashi. They scored 33 goals in 2008. I hope the no-name brazilians will do well...but I'm really worried about that The lost of Hokuto is still a heartbreaker for me and i hope we can fill this hope, but Kudo and Tanaka are good ones and i'm sure one of them can replace him on the right side.
It's nice to see him doing well in Switzerland and I hope the best for him. Yea, I have to say that the biggest positive from last season was the 5-0 against Ehime. It's not looking good right now though. All of our Brazilians finished their loans and we have not signed any new ones. I hope that we get some quality players.

There once where two no-name brazilians that came to Kyoto in 2005, their names were Paulinho and Alemao... Good luck!
Avispa got a pretty hard end of the first round 12 - Consadole Sapporo - (H) 13 - Vegalta Sendai - (A) 14 - Sagan Tosu - (H) 15 - Tokyo Verdy - (A) 16 - Ventforet Kofu - (H) 17 - Cerezo Osaka - (A) we must go trough it without to much damage
yes, a 34 round season like J1 would be much easier after 1 1/2 month, we are at round 10 already... no time for rehabilitation
It is a long, hard season but the smaller clubs need the ticket sales from the extra games just to survive so until J2 gets a few more clubs (hopefully in 2010) it's the best option for everybody involved.
