I just discovered this morning that in my company's digital cable package, FSW is available. The cost is about $10 a month. As I've never seen it, I'd like to get some peoples opninions...Is FSW worth it? I love watching Euorpean Football but I realize that my favorite league (Serie A) isn't on. I'm just wondering, how many games are on in a typical week, how much is devoted to soccer, are there highlite shows that show stuff from all over the world, etc.
Thanks for any responses.

Currently FSW has the English Premier League, German League, Argentine League and Brazilian soccer from various CBF competitions. They also have excellent coverage of Rugby and some cricket as well. I have heard that they are adding the CFL this fall too, but haven't seen it. There is apparently a new global soccer highlight program being developed, and there are weekly magazine shows like Football Mundial that are shown as well.
It seems like their programming is often in a state of flux, adding new leagues as the season progresses. In the past, they have covered French, Italian and Dutch soccer in addition to the ones mentioned above. They have also covered the UEFA Cup live as well -- not sure if they have it this year.
Each weekend brings a couple EPL games on tape delay, one live German game and one on tape delay, and Argentinian game on tape delay on Sunday. There are also live EPL games on during the week. Brazilian soccer is covered throughout the week, and many big matches this summer were covered live. Most of the games are replayed during the week. Everynight they show Sky Sports News which is very heavy on coverage of the EPL with highlights of some of the non-weekend action.
FSW is the only reason I switched from cable to satellite tv, and in my opinion is worth the extra money I pay for it. There are those who often complain about the coverage or the announcers, but on average I think FSW does a very good job showing a lot of quality soccer to a very small audience.

However, they got rid of the Asian Basketball Show. I miss the Asian Basketball Show.

I think they replaced it with more shows about Indian sports, because you can't cover it all in one half hour.

My only complaint is the current selections of leagues. SPL and Brasilian league doesn't excite me. I rather have the French and Dutch league over those two. La Liga and Serie A would my prefer choice but I guess the rights to those leagues are expensive.

Tuesday night - Premiership Highlights followed by Futbol de Primera - worth the 10$ right there. You wont see a single Juve goal on there - but will anyone see a Serie A goal this season.

Go for it!
Go for it. FSW is the only channel that lets me get my soccer fix on a regular basis between MLS Soccer Saturdays.
Sure it's not perfect, but it's the only alternative for soccer fans in the US. And IMHO $10/month sure beats going to a bar, paying for drinks and cover charge to catch a soccer match or paying $15/match on PPV (There are exceptions of course).
Plus as denalimn stated you get a decent amount of soccer news coverage and higlights. In additon to Sky Sports and Futbal mudial, FWS also shows the an EPL higlight show.
I refuse to pay for movie channels like HBO, but IMHO FSW is worth every cent.
If your still not sure if you want it get to: http://www.foxsportsworld.com/world/
And check out thier programing schedules for next two weeks.

I'm sure there's more than enough quality soccer to justify the $10/month charge.
My only criticism is there are to many infomercials to fill in between sports broadcast, but I forget about that once I'm watching an EPL or Bundesliga match.

Could someone fill me in (or point me to an informative site) on why Comcast has such a disdain for Fox Sports World?

MetroMatt,
Before you jump into a subscription of FSW, I must warn you that you may become totally exhausted from all the soccer viewing - something that I found myself to be suffering from week after week. Last season, I limited myself mostly to watching the English, German, Dutch, and occasionally, the French leagues. That meant an average of over 7 matches per week. I often found myself to have several taped matches unwatched by Friday, the day before the next cycle of new matches got shown on Saturday. This left very little time to watch MLS matches, which tended to be inferior to matches in the four leagues listed above. So little time, so many matches!!
