Come on Addicks fans. If you could pick one player to add in the squad, who would it be? And why?

Think strikers like Renaldo, Henry, Landon Donovan.

Or midfielders like Figo, Beckham, or Kyle Martino.

Or defenders like Roberto Carlos or Carlos Bocenegra.

Or even keepers like Kahn, Buffon, or Kevin Hartman.

Sorry chums, just throwing some American player names into the mix to provoke discussion.

What do the Addicks need most to stay near the top and make Europe a reality next year?

In one word: Striker

And what striker would I like if I could get him? Well, can you say "Ruuuuuuuud" Van Nistelrooy?

We could use a real poacher type. I'm really wondering what might be available that the club could afford. Or for that matter, maybe get on loan.

If you are thinking poacher, Carlos Ruiz would be cheap. I hate the guy but he does have a nack for scoring. Taylor Twillman would be better in that role, but don't count out Carleton Cole. He is starting to show what he is capable of doing after the hip injury at the beginning of the season.

I would love to see an American at Charlton. I guess there is Rubucaka (sp?) but he is behind Kiely and won't see much playing time for a while. Plus it is not even sure if he wants to be considered as American for soccer purposes.

I would not touch the midfield right now. They are playing great, and the defence has really solidified itself.

I would wait until the summer transfer window to go after players. DiCanio and Cole will be gone opening up two spots at forward, and mabye some movement in back will be possible also. But if it is not broken, don't fix it.
