Creative types - here's a way to kill some holiday downtime. Post your kit designs for your favorite expansion city. Vancouver, Ottawa, Miami, Atlanta, Portland, St. Louis - what might your clubs be wearing in 2011? Portland Timbers:
Here's some of mine(the two FCB inspired Miami ones were done pre-news that the team would not be sharing it's name or colors with FCB):
And here's a Vancouver one I did for a USL rebrand project I did over on the sportslogos.net forums, I know it's Nike but you get the idea:
Yup that's me. It's fishheatcats actually though lol. I never thought of how that sounds "Fish eat cats" haha.
Very nice designs, what is a website to be able to do these kits... if you have a link, please forward.
Grim The Chris Creamer Logo site has a forum for posting concepts. Many templates are available there.
Hmmm guess I always missed the second H. I always thought the name was humorous but now it makes a little more sense. At any rate reat work as always. Magic City was one of my favorites.
A Portland Timbers jersey with Rogue as a sponsor would be better than tits with chocolate sprinkles on them.
I'm trying to decide if I agree with you. Good beer and my club OR tits & chocolate. Dammit! This dilemna is going to haunt me you bastard!!! I guess it depends the tits.
As much as I don't like the Timbers, I got to hand it to Oregon, it has some fine beers. Deschutes is my personal favorite.. and in a poor attempt to make this post on topic.. The Barcardi jersey on page one wouldn't work because MLS jerseys can't have hard-a sponsors.
Understood re: Bacardi. It was used because Bacardi is/was based in Miami. Hopefully another local sponsor can be found for the shirt; note the Carnival & Royal Caribbean used on the other examples.... For all of that, the shirt gives a very different & distinctive look, IMO.
Here's another one guys: Club Atlético de Miami or Athletic Club of Miami, using sharks as the mascot/unofficial nickname. The color combo would be unique to MLS, and it also ties in with the Heat and Panthers, and also the Strikers from the NASL. Enjoy! EDIT: The uncanny resemblance between my design and Reading FC's crest was pointed out to me after I finished designing it, without ever seeing Reading's crest. I swear I never saw Reading's before(at least I don't remember it), and it's just weird how close it ended up being.
Why not just call 'em the Miami Sharks, and be done with it? They won't be an athletic club, or be part of one, or probably not even be sponsored by one, so Athletic Club of Miami sounds stupid, at least to me. The uniform design does look good, though .
Or, why not call them the Miami Makos? Of the 2 names dr gave, Tiburones is the coolest, IMO. No team in the USA or Canada has that nickname. Yes, I know, there is only one Mighty Ducks, too, but Tiburones is light years better than that..... I agree w/DavidP about the uniforms. The red/yellow is not used by anyone else in MLS, that I know of, and is really very distinctive. Plus, to me, is screams Strikers. That's a nice tribute to South Florida's 1st successful pro team. The white/yellow away jersey is also fine and a very good variation on the home red/gold. I'm not fond of the black, however. Perhaps a version of the USL1 FC Miami blue would do better for a 3rd shirt. It would be different and would also pay tribute to the recent past. I like the crest, even if it does resemble someone else's. As ever, kudos to dr for a very good attempt.
Here are 3 I have done before but just recently updated with new ADIDAS kit templates. Atlanta Phili Vancouver
Damn...those are pretty cool...if you get some time, could you try Miami and STL? I'd like to see what you cook up for those
