Canal + which is a pay TV channel has a nice site where all their free to watch programs are available on VOD. A lot of comedy stuff there too. Sociologically, Canal + could be described as the yuppie channel, leaning on the liberal side with a lot of derision on all issues. To some point, it can get on my tits but that's still one of the most watchable in France, IMO...

Le grand Journal is their main evening program and features a lot of worldwide stars in its second part whereas the first part is focused on politics and news.

Main programs :

France 24, the French International news channel 24/7.

Just click on "La chaîne en direct".

I don't know if it works for abroad viewers, though.

There is no live feed of TV5 Monde, the francophone international news channel but their site's web TV provides a lot of resources.

http://www.tv5.org/TV5Site/webtv/pag..._emission_.htm

Kiosque is worth watching. It's a kind of international "Meet the Press" program with journalists from Europe and the rest of the world quite similar to BBC's version.

And for those of you who are interested in African football, there is a dedicated (and thorough) program as well.
