This quote is ABSOLUTELY priceless, 'We're crap. But we're gonna beat you anyway.' Stefan Effenberg

Default Effe Quote

That was a quote manufactured for the story by the author, not an actual quote from Effe.

Although, one would easily believe Effe's arrogance regarding the matter. If you are a Bayern fan and remember the match the year they won in earlier rounds v. Man Utd (Qtr. Finals of 2000-01)...you might remember the battle between R. Keane and Effe during the match when the supposed intimidator (Keano) tried to out-muscle Effe for a ball down the right touch line. Effe dumped him on his arse, and then proceeded to taunt Keane. That moment would have been a perfect point to insert Uli's Effe quote...

However, the better point to the article is that FCB are currently not playing a formation that suits the players correctly (i.e Ballack, Ze, and the Forwards in general). Not to mention a particular strength of the team in the past, the defense, is in abysmal shape. I think we should be happy that we are as far along in the BL and the CL as we are and hope that these problems are sorted out in the spring.

Just saw the game against Freiburg and don't think Ballack was playing but Ze Roberto was on fire and granted Freiburg are not the highest quality opposition but it definetly looked like the Bayern of old and they didnt even look like that much crap either. All I know is the best signing Bayern have made in the last couple years is not Ballack or Ze Roberto but Roy Makkay if Bayern beat Madrid he's gonna be the reason why.
