Hey for anyone following the 2nd Bundesliga, has Mainz ever been in the 1st Bundesliga? And what does FSV Mainz 05 stand for? I'm guessing "Fussball Sport something Mainz 1905"?

Hey thanks. Yeah I was thinking the V might stand for Vereinigten, since it means 'united'. I too am hoping Mainz finally breaks it to the top league this year, it was tragic the way they bowed out last season in the very last game to Braunschweig. (or maybe it was Frankfurt, I can't remember)

Congratulations to Mainz, they came up when none think about.

I think it was the 5th. and heaviest attempt, but this time it's happened.

Great to see Mainz finally make it to the top flight in Germany after being so close over the past few years.

I went to a Mainz game a few years back and had a great time. Nice little stadium and great fans.

Congratulations!!
