Congratulations Burn fans.

Hopefully you've found the man to lead you out of the wilderness.

Yea, probably true, based on 3rd Degree's report. The UK source probably has Collin's home phone and used it. Hope Elliot is not hacked about it.

Ok, now comes the real stuff. Who does he release, who does he discover, who does he select for allocations, and who does he draft?

And, if MLS does not lower Toni's cap number, does he keep him or cut him?

There are NO congratulations in order. This is death. Again, we got screwed. Mark my words, this is the nail in the Burn coffin. I hope you little toe kissers have the guts to remember where you stood on this hire. When the masses again stay away in droves, remember that you were for this novice.

I hope that you can get the lineup just the way you want it:

ej missing point blank shots to your hearts content, Kreis getting slower and crankier each day, Chad limiting his practices to once a week, Pareja playing "guess which body part is making that popping sound", Gbandi throwing temper tantrums to cover for his inept marking, Behnke leading the league in assists to the opposition, Nhelko showing up overweight and late again

You deserve every one of them.

Well Colin Clarke, the Burn are doing you no favor either. These sack of snakes want you just because they are not comfortable with other ethnicities coaching "thier" team. They will also turn on you. I think that you had an upside to your emerging resume. By accepting this job, you will have screwed yourself out of future respect in the coaching ranks. With time, and proper backing, although I despise your style of coaching you would have probably succeeded on a grand scale. However, since you are not a fireman, and the Burn is in full blaze, you will be blamed. See how they let Jefferies twist in the wind. See how they shoved Andy out the back door. Are you really that desperate and impatient? I would demand multiple year paychecks in guarantee. I would demand roster $$ guarantees. Too bad you can not demand butts in seats for home games. That is for sure a gonner.

Oh well, my family and I had a great time living and breathing for this team. Here's to the hope that pro soccer may one day again grace the DFW metro area again sometime soon. After all, this is only a game, and there are so many other things one should do with their time.

Farewell

theodore, who really cares who's the stinkin' coach.

The Burn have escaped Sucklake, they'll play in the Cotton Bowl in 2004, and they'll have their own SSS in 2005.

That's all that counts.

The rest -- coach, roster, draft picks, etc, etc -- is chicken feed in comparison.

Very good. Give him two years to dig out of the hole Jeffries left the Burn in.

As to Toni, with ROB signing, I think he is out. Brann is balking at lowering his transfer price, and i expect Toni to decline a lower salary. As of midnight, however, he no longer has anything to do with the Burn.

All right Colin, get those two defenders and the schemer.

Are you Mike Jeffries in disguse? Or perhaps a pissed off Schellas Hyndman? Your comment on the front office not wanting other ethnicities to be the coach may the stupidest comment ever written on these boards, and believe me, there have been plenty of stupid comments. Get a grip and think before you post.

I think this is a good hire. As much as I thought I wanted the team to be blown up and rebuilt, the reality is we are going to see most of the guys return next year, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Colin's familiarity with the players is a plus, and he knows first hand who needs to stay and who needs to go.

I believe there was a sign against Chicago, Colin's first game that said "Go Colin Go". Well let me repeat that here. I like it and after seeing how he was not afraid to change the line up around. Also you could see why he was subbing someone in or out...most of the time.

He brought out the EJ everyone talked about and yes Theodore, he did miss a point blank shot, he he also busted his ass and made several more.

I'm hoping he will allow Salyer some more playing time as I was impressed by him against the crapids.

And yes I hope he brings in the fast pace English Premier League style of play and not the boring boring long ball Serie A style.

Colin, make us proud and go get soem of the Dundee players!

The long ball can be attributed to:
1. Playing at Southlake
2. Having a big ass guy like Nhleko who we could lump the ball up to, and have him keep possesion while the team transitioned into the attack.

I seriously doubt we'll be seeing much long ball being played at the Cotton Bowl, even if Toni is still around.
